We know how Ripple got into the scene and effortlessly took the 2nd spot in terms of market cap. Do you think Ethereum can reclaim it this month? What do you think?

I think Ethereum will have a hard time to reclaim its position since ripple is being backed up by large banking firms. On the other hand Vitalik Buterin the founder of Ethereum has posted on his tweeter that there is a possiblity that he will the space together with Ethereum since it has not met its purpose. Thoe words of Vitalik may have some negative impact on Ethereum as well.

Yes ethereum almost near to ripple marketcap and also ethereum crossed 850$ and will hit 1000$ in next couple of day s already ripple started falling down ethereumis ready to back its original position.

Interval between Marketcap for Ripple-ETH is 3,xxx,xxx,xxxUSD (total). That's will easily to reach a second place as the most biggest volume.
Just check now, Market in 24h... ETH has over Ripple for 2,xxx,xxx,xxx. Im believe ethereum will return to its position, and shift the ripple on this month.

The fact is in cryptocurrencies no one can actually and freely say what is going to happen in the market, for a very long time now etheruem has occupied the second position in the exchange market. But in recent time we have seen how ripple came and overtake ethereuem to become the second in the market today, but due to the volatility in price of cryptocurrencies you may be surprise to see ethereuem leading again in the future speculators can only speculates but the price is control by the demands for it.

etherum have big chance , but i dont know the excatly time
because right now , ethereum platform used for many token , and i think that will make ethereum price higher

I think that this is just a small blip on the maret of the ethernum. Yes, ripple might have made some waves but the i genuity of ethernum as being the smart cryptocurrency would still be the main reason why it would overtake a lot of its competition

I think ethereum can bounce back to number to since it is pumping really hard lately. As you can see it reaches now at 875usd and has the potential to reach 1000+ usd. Mean time ripple although it pump it is slowly dumping right now. Maybe sooner or later ethereum will exceeed ripple again.

I think we cannot make any comments on this topic, it's really something that we cannot predict.. the market is swayed by all the, people that invest in it thus we can only predict ..

Predictions are something that are not based on the fact but mere spectulaions and asking something like will it get back up and Everything​ is just something that nobody can answer.

But we know for sure that etherum holds huge potential and the chances of it Being up are high thus we can assume it to go up.

ripple? no, bitcoincash stole the second spot on etherium and ripple is in third spot but for now based on the curent movements of etherium , i think it can still recover and regain again its second spot next to bitcoin and bitcoincash will be then sit on the third spot before ripple.

year 2018 is indeed the best year for etherium to start with.


overall, i think etherium will not be the only one to boom this 2018 because as i can see there were also other coins and tokens  that is now climbing and probably have a potential to pump more as 2018 gets going. but i think ranking does not really matter, what matter here is the real usage and purpose of the coin/token on why it was built.

Once the Lightning Network is implemented on Bitcoin, most of these temporary solutions, like Ethereum and BCash and Ripple will take a nose dive. Ripple sold out to Banks from the start and people will realize the threat of investments into Bank coins <central authorities>

Ethereum is still a security fraud with no real use case. <Vitalik and his co-founders are the only winners>

it's so hard for ETH take 2nd position back

I can't say the least for now but I think it will be but it will take time since the fork for EtherZero got cancelled. It's the chance to reclaim it's spot but because of lack of support it wouldn't. But as far as I can see Ethereum is always going up maybe it will take again. Ripple will be ripped because banksters control it.

Does coinmarketcap (https://coinmarketcap.com/coins/) has encountered a glitch which put Ripple on the 2nd spot and not BCH?

it is possible for a couple of reasons but also impossible for some other reasons.
1. they are pumping ETH right now pretty hard in order to do exactly what you asked, to take the #2 place. that is all ETH has and it loses it, there is nothing left :D
2. XRP pump can not go on forever, the bubble will burst and it will lose its value eventually and comes down. nearly 40 billion coins supply is not a joke!

but it is impossible since:
1. XRP has released a ton of supply in the past. they will do it again soon and if they release even a 10 billion coins out of the remaining 62 billion (total is 100 billion and 38 is already released) the market cap of it shoots higher!
2. ETH is also pumped and in a bubble. it may burst and drop hard too. and it is always easier to pump a $1 shitcoin than pumping a $800 shitcoin.

Ethereum will not easily recover its lost second place in the capitalization table. Although the difference between him and ripple is not so great, but ripple are big financial banking giants and we do not know their plans for this yet. And their plans can be very insidious. This may be the beginning of a major battle between banks and decentralized crypto currency, and therefore I would not recommend being so calm and optimistic about this issue.

It do think that it will always depends on how the market would took etheruem. As we can see in the past years, ethereum is deeply welcomed by the market and help it to go up from a minimal price unto its peek. Same with ripple, but ethereum must make a move in order to continue in growing. The demand in ripple is already greater than ETH and they must do something about it.

Is the position in the Coinmarketcap really that important? I really think the real position for this Cryptocurrency list is what we think and what we vote on, We all know that Ethereum is a long-running Cryptocurrency and proven to be worth the shot in investing in it because of the services it can provide us with, I really think that Ethereum is in the second place and it will remain that way, But the great part is we don't have to debate whose first or who's the last because in every Cryptocurrency in here I really think we have gained and we had benefit something by means of trading, investing, and taking profit each time it increases in value.

The gap between Ethereum and Ripple in terms of market cap is getting closer than it was before. In my own opinion, I honestly think that Ethereum will reclaim its 2nd spot within this week.

However, I cannot guarantee that because anything can happen. Ripple is going stronger even if Bitcoin and other top altcoins crashed down the line. It's just that Ripple is centralized and was backed by huge banks.

Ripple will not stay in second place for a long time. Ethereum system reflects the spirit.

The marketcapitalizationof ethereum almost the same as ripple, it means if the competition between ethereum and ripple will be very strictly. How ethereum will come to the pos system in this year and everyone is able to stake their coin to the ethereum network. Ripple comes with so many bankers behind it to give a huge support to the open payment tech development.

Almost the same, yes, but they are different in almost every other aspect. Ripple was always going to make these waves if you consider from months ago the way the leadership was going to distribute their coin - or lock it up. Great strategy that shouldn't have worked, since everyone already knew how much was going to be in circulation, and to me the artificial locking up and circulation will eventually fail. But let's see. If Ethereum's own leadership makes some decisions, and they definitely can, a 1k price will boost it back into second place.

I believed Ethereum will reclaim the former position like what happen to the bitcoin cash in which it just take the secondary position for just a month. Those pump attempt on Ripples will not become so long because it did not attract huge investors until now to create a huge gap value in order to secure the second spot against Ethereum. I bet before January end, Ethereum will bounce back and become secondary to bitcoin once again.   

I have some ripple last few months ago and Im very happy sad because I sold my ripple when the price decrease and I see the price today it increase and the price it's already $2 plus and for sure it will increase more.  But ethereum for sure reclaim the 2nd market cap because this coin the price is very high and for sure it will increase more the price. So better don't compared ripple or ethereum because it's totally different from each other.  

Yes Etherum just reclaim its spot as 2nd highest marketcap few hours ago. I have both ripple and ethereum but I still prefer to see Ethereum as the second highest marketcap because I think Ethereum is better than Ripple and more decentralized. Ethereum still have a lot of room to grow and I believe 2018 will be amazing for Ethereum thanks to the proof of stake fork so miners cant mine Ethereum anymore so they have to buy Ethereum in order to mine it

It's a very good question, I am still surprised that ripple able to get the eth place, but I think eth got a better prospect than XRP, eth has been used as a token for a lot of ICO, ripple is just got lucky, I think it's just the matter of time eth will claim back it's place

Of course! I doubt ripple can stay 2nd for long, either Eth or something else will take its place.
Ethereum will have a great 2018 imo, once Casper arrives you better hold on to your socks.

I don't think that Ripple can sustain on 2nd position and its current price (BTC - 0.00016330). We already had seen such pumping in May'2017 when Ripple climps to (BTC - 0.00021660) from (0.00000610) & then continuously goes down. Let's wait for sometime till BTC start moving & picture will clear..

I don't think if ethereum coin was still standing at the second spot, because bitcoin cash are silently increasing. I guess this crypto currency have a plan to surpass ethereum this year. However I still believe that developers of ethereum are not agreed with that matter. So im sure that they made a way to remain their position at the second spot.

Eth have claimed it back with a very comfortable market cap over Ripple. I just wonder what happened to this promising Ripple coin that is backed heavily with banks? Any idea what causes Ripple's status today?

yes, as long as ethereum maintain its stability and continuosly growing etherium can still reclaim the second spot of leading coin in the market cap.

ETH is more stable, so I don't think whoever can replace it from the second place. Will be so surprised if this happen, but for me its impossible. Anyway we will see

ETH is losing its position now. The ripple coin has already shown us once that it can easily surpass the coin that has existed for a long time. And if the ethereum remains slow and the network is loaded then it will give up its place to the coin which is much faster and with a minimum commission.

Of course. Ethereum will be 2nd highest marketcap. Even now this has happened. I even have another hope, that ethereum will be able to replace bitcoin positions.

Although bitcoin price equals 10x the price of ethereum, but it is not impossible. Just a matter of time, we just wait, and follow some channels that talk about altcoin, predictions about ethereum are all revealed. So stay tune on ethereum. Thanks
