This isn't up on my website just yet, but in the meantime, send me an email (rchomiczewski @ gmail) to purchase.

Can't decide whether to get the pre-assembled case?  Then check-out the assembly instructions (http://richchomiczewski.wordpress.com/bitfury-open-air-case-assembly-instructions/).

Now shipping with a few extra fasteners to mount whatever, like this PSU switch:

Thanks.

I forgot to mention that the two beams supporting the m-board can be re-positioned so that you can mount three thick 32/38mm thick fans.   ;D

Rich -
I see your thickness measurements.  But I am not very knowledgeable about fans.  What size (height, width or fan diameter) do we need to get for three across on each side?

F**king gorgeous work, do you have just that standard shipping rate or would it cost you or I more if you were to ship it to a place Far away from you
In reality, would shipping it to Canada cost any more? I dont know where you are shipping from
for the sake of testing, would it cost you more to send it to some place thats a contenent away? (IE Mexico to Russia)

Maybe I missed it but do we know the final placement of the Rpi in the final board setup? I know on the prototype it was hanging off 90deg to the M-board. How is it now and have you adjusted for it in your design? Thanks.

In addition to the cost of the case, I collect whatever the actual shipping charge is  (USPS/UPS) to your location.

I don't know what the final placement is, so to cover all bases... connecting the Pi directly to the board in any orientation should work.

http://i715.photobucket.com/albums/ww153/Spotswood_/Bitfury%20ASIC%20tray/BitfuryASICtrayV2_zps9e9ca6ab.jpg (http://s715.photobucket.com/user/Spotswood_/media/Bitfury%20ASIC%20tray/BitfuryASICtrayV2_zps9e9ca6ab.jpg.html)

Otherwise, I include a mounting plate which you can attach the Pi to and then connect the Pi it to the board with a cable (not included).

it would be possible to have it stand on the PSU side   ....

like this ...

with the black knobs on the small psu side ???

if so i would be intrested how ... about the delivery in EU? ...

Yes, the case can be easily re-configured in a vertical orientation.

Shipping to EU seems to be ranging $55-75 USD.

assuming the $125 is for the 'case' only...  are you selling an option that includes fans and power supply?

Although I don't have an m-board here, I've verified as well as I can that the Raspberry Pi will fit either plugged directly into the socket or mounted underneath the board.

The case is pre-drilled for all of the mounting holes on the current and forthcoming versions of the m-board.  The different widths of the boards is handled by the ability to re-position the two support beams.

Just received my case this evening - looks great.   I'm mounting power supply at the moment, will try to put up some pictures tomorrow.

If anyone is looking for fans, Amazon has a Cooler Master silent 4-pack of fans here for about $3 each:

Btw, what shipping company are you using? I hope to god it's not UPS as they rape us with customs brokerage fees over here in Canada.

I see that v2 of the m-board is different than the previous one in regards to mounting the raspberry pi. Do you think it will be necessary to move the PSU to the opposite side and if so how easy it for us to do this on our own. I presume the case comes assembled with the PSU mount point on the left, no?

Yes, I've switched the placement of the PSU to the opposite side.

For all of the cases shipped so far, all you have to do (basically) is move the PSU post, PSU hold-down beam and the two nuts that are used to fasten the beam to the posts, all of which should take less than 5 minutes.

Actually I think that is going to make things more difficult - the cables come out the back of the PSU.  With the PSU on the other side, the RPi will end up being in the path of the cables.   I guess we'll see soon enough...

I'd move the two beams supporting the m-board in the opposite direction of the RaspPi, and re-adjust the top hold down.  It looks to me like they are they are too close to the "front" edge, and if you want to move them back there's probably a good 6 inches or so to spare in that direction.

Also, there should be sufficient room to route the PSU cables under the m-board - they shouldn't need to snake around the RPi like that.

 :o  Nice.

The mounting plate for the rPi was really only intended for v1 m-boards and the use of the ribbon cable.

I'm open to suggestions for how to properly mount the rPi to the case for v2 boards.   ;D

The posted assembly instructions is for v1 m-boards and needs to be updated for v2.   :'(

... of that sounds fine ... i will remove that plate ... its unnecessary in my opinion as the raspberry seems to hold good on the m-board ... i will start mounting the fans ... today ... and show again some pictures ... :-) i have a fan controller so i can turn them off as for now it seems the miner is performing best without to much cooling ...

No, but the same material could be used to house those.  Is there a mechanical drawing of one of those blades?

The BFs don't seem to run better without a whole lot of cooling, so I've simplified the design a bit.
If you're doing a v3 make it shorter than 475mm so it can fit in a rack between the posts -mounting the psu in the middle instead of 1 of the fans shoudl do it :)

Thanks Spotswood!  Very happy with my case.  I have not figured out how to get the power supply mounted but all else is great.  I had some minor issues with the location of some of the nuts in the slots being on the wrong sides but I took it apart and got it right.  Tightened up the case feels and looks great. It is much better having my hardware locked in the sturdy frame vs having it on a cardboard box.  :)

Thank you I just got my frame today...I'm a little confused on the bag with the two nylon spacers.  Its unmarked.  What is it for?  I think its for mounting the H-board spacers.  I'll show completed pics once my hash-power comes around...My only other wish is that your kit came with an exploded diagram of how it all goes together and also if I could get a parts list.  Thank you for the small wera wrenches - that was a really nice touch!

Is it easier to get everything mounted in first AND THEN to mount in my M-board and H-board hardware or the other way around?  get those installled first then mount my fans and PSU?

The two little nylon spacers are "extra" parts to mount what-nots, do-dads, etc.   ;D

There should be a big bag of nylon spacers to separate the h-boards.

Assemble the entire case first, along with any fan tabs.  Then mount m-board, h-board, fans, pi and PSU.

One thing that i remarked is that the stabilisation of the h-cards interupts the air from the fans ... on the chip that is in that corner ... as those boards are predicted to get OC and fans and heatsinks are a must ... it might be an interesting option to get a stabilistation in the bottom corner where no ... smd parts are ...

Or, now that v2 m-boards are being shipped worldwide, the existing design could be adjusted where everything is mounted closer to the PSU (by 30mm?).

Ignore my post (answer if you want others to see) but I've sent you an email.

Hi Sportswood,

Would this case be suitable for use as a standard pc open air case?

I want to use this case for a gaming rig with the hope of being able to mount the water cooling like you've mounted the fans.

My main goal would to be to attach a bracket that will take a lcd monitor on the base of it and stand it up long ways.

Do you think this case would suit this setup? Or is there another case you make or additional brackets you can add to it that might be better?

Ok.

It would be easier to build a custom case, using the same building materials.  For example, here's a SFF:
