I can't even reply to other posts other than my own thread, this is such bullshit. Fuck this forum.

This restriction is bad for people using mobile networks. You should make the restriction for accounts i.e. "The last posting from your account was less than 360 seconds ago"

yeah it suck.. I even experienced this on my very first post on this forum :'(

Yeah, it feel like the Admins hate newbie  :(

and we hate spam/scam, that's why there are the newbie restrictions

You can post once every 6 minutes, to reduce the spam i guess? Well have to cope with this until restriction is lifted ( i don't even know how xD )

Yes this seems to happen regularly regardless of when I last posted. Certainly when it's been longer than 6 minutes. Really annoying....

And of course you lose your entire post....

I actually ran into this on my very first post, as I was foolish enough to click "Preview" to try and make sure my post looked happy and correct.

Apparently for the Post rate limiter, Preview counts.. so beware.

I had this as well... somewhat annoying. And then it tells me that I've already posted my comment so cannot post it again, despite the fact that it didn't post the first time because the last post was less than 360 seconds ago.  ???

I suspect even logging in is counted as a "posting" by the system. Quite annoying.

AFAIR with activity 16 the limit goes down to 60 sec. Anybody can confirm that?

I appreciate them wanting to limit spam, and fraudulent posters however whilst Ive been using BTC for 6 months and have been browsing this site for ages and now decide to post its a bit tenuous going through this process... Oh well.

Your right, this is a problem. But you can selet+copy the text before you post, just in case  :D

i get this error randomly too. it must be a bug. i hope the admins are reading and can fix it

Yes, people can take extra steps to help themselves. Nonetheless, it's still an issue the admins should try to improve on.

I get this message while I haven't posted for more than 48H . I tried Yesterday and today again ... This is annoying. And I don't have plans to scam or spam .. at least until now . But there is something important I need to say ...like posting my addresses to the giveaway messages  8).

But anyway, the system is wrong stating "An Error Has Occurred!
The last posting from your IP was less than 360 seconds ago. Please try again later." while I didn't  so .. and as an a posteriori check.

I don't have any twinge of conscience posting such a useless message against the obvious scams I can read here and there or insults given for free to developpers made by the "non" newbies here and there on the "adults" section.

An uneducated newbie.

You have a 360 sec (= 6 min) delay between 2 actions.
So, basically if you log in, you need to wait 360 seconds before being able to answer.
If you send a PM, as well...


When your activity is greater than 16 it is reduced to 60 seconds (I think).

This happens to me often, worse its normally when I have typed up something long and detailed... Add insult to injury, once you finally do log out and back in, try to re-post. I get the error of "You have already posted this!"

That could be a possible explanation. I'm sure it has been more than 6 minutes after my last post (an hour maybe) and I get the annoying message.

Same here I use Broadband and I get the same error. Even though I logined after couple of days.

I'm in the habit of doing this every time now. Got tired of trying to post too soon and having to rewrite the entire post again.

This forum really blows.   I can't do anything useful.

With more posts the waiting limits go down. I never experience these waiting limits anymore.

Welp, this is incredibly annoying. I just want to post in a support thread for coinmine pools.

As far as I know, it is only applied to newbies and jr members.
So, I will just live with it. :P

Yeah, noticed this bug by myself as well, i just refreshed page and did everything all over again, also the forum isn't very user friendly for new people.
Hope to see these issues being fixed in future.

I got this same problem when I was trying to post  with 6 minutes

It is to protect the forum from spammers creating new accounts and posting some advertisement or some bulshit all over the forum

The worst part is how it doesn't tell you how long you have left to wait. It would be nice if it told you when you last posted at the top so you don't have to guess.

Most annoying thing is when someone replied while I was typing my reply and it won't let me post because of that. Maybe I can turn that off in settings though I'm not sure.

I really think that kind of restrictions for new users doesen't makes sense at all. Also being a new user of that forum doesen't mean to be a "newbie" of Bitcoin.

when you complete your 10 posts and 4 hours on this forum its good for newbie and we need to restrict scammers

Well that's one way to get around it, but not everyone posts from VPNs.

I agree, but the time limits might reduce bots posting spam all over the forum.

That will be your activity and it takes up to 30 minutes to update. You can enable your post count in your settings.


You have a time restriction of 360 seconds when you first sign up. Log-ins and attempted but failed posts count. You need to make sure you wait the full six minutes after logging in before you try post. It's annoying but the time limit goes down the more activity you get.

Activity is quite confusing to grasp at first, but basically you can only get a max of 14 activity points per every two week period. The new period starts tomorrow, so if you make 14 posts today you will get 14 activity, then if you make another 14 posts tomorrow you will get another 14.

This is so annoying. I feel I am not welcomed here.

If you are using TOR, there's a good change other people have also used your IP address.

Plus I think that a login might be considered as a post.

You wont have this problem once your towards a jr.member.

What would be the cause of getting this error message when I am absolutely positive that I am the only person on this forum using my IP, and I didn't just log in within the last 6 minutes?

Have you made any search or sent a PM during the last 6 min?
Apart from logging in, forum searching and sending PM will also reset the timer.

If you share your IP address then anytime anyone on your IP either logsin or posts then it counts as a post.

When you log in you must wait at least 6 minutes before posting.

It's very annoying but if it reduces the amount of spam posts then it's a necessary evil I suppose

I faced many problems at the starting but when i became a Jr. member most of the problems went away...

Faced it multiple times.
Attempting to post, even if the attempt fails, counts as a post from your ip.

When you became a JR member your posting limit was increased to once every 60 seconds. When you had 16 activity (at least 16 posts and posted during 2 14 day periods) you could post every 72 seconds.
