Title: Is there any way the NSA could associate my public key with my IP address?
Post by: Capitalism Prevails on August 04, 2013, 10:43:44 PM
Would the best way be to just use a different public key for every new transaction?

Only the IP of the first relaying nodes so it's far from reliable.

Still a good idea to setup bitcoin-qt to use Tor (it's build in the options) as a proxy if you're paranoid about staying anonymous.

Install Tor and tick that box and you're ready to go.

Nothing is foolproof and court's are finnaly ruling that a IP address isn't. A individual  so if you get in trouble. Your lawyer could use that as precedents even through those rulings have to do with file sharing  you could make the. Case that because btc is p2p you should be protected as well :)

They have that spyware that logs your keys and screen, so I'm sure if they wanted they'd have a nice shot of your open wallet with your addresses.
