of course all the altcoin their have own business, so there's nothing to worry about because they're in trouble like those of bitconnect coin or bcc with their own business running and own crypto currency coin like bitcoin case just a bitcoin on these coins and higher bitcoin prices and more ways to use bitcoin so they are more selective in altcoin.

I think im going to other Altcoins with good potential and has bright future in the community exchange i will research for it to ensure that i really choose the best Altcoin with a good project and vision.

I will choose Bitcoin Cash (BCH) and Ripple (XRP) for sure. Both are worthy replacement for BTC and ETH respectively and they are on the top 5 in the cryptoworld in terms of market capitalization.

I will choose ETN. Once their mobile app for farming go live, I think the price will surge because of the availability of ETN.

I think it's better to have no ethereum than bitcoin because bitcoin has more ways to use than ethereum because bitcoin is also popular and its higher price in ethereum is also a bit of confidence in bitcoin because it is more popular than ethereum, But it may not happen because it has long been in the field of bitcoin and ethereum.

I think my choice would be after BTC and ETH is DOGECOIN.
BUT LTC  also good.

Litecoin is my next choice because it is rhe next alternative coin out there with the highest potential and its price is fairly competitive enough to be a longer term of investments in the cryptocurrency world and it's market project seems to be convincing to be a worth while investments.

I think i'll choose Litecoin , altcoin , Ripple and dogecoin.

Every one has its own characteristics. ETH is an intelligent contract, and ripple is a gateway service. There are also customized for the entertainment industry, customized for the gambling industry, there are anonymous properties, there are too many public utilities. I think this digital monetary ecology is healthy. We will have more options in the future.

I will see another altcoin that have good value in market, ofcourse i will watch carefully before im trying to get the coin

we all have our own vision to what coin we like the most. all the matter is the profit. i will pick any coin that make sense to me. not just a dump and pump coin. who want to pick a dump coin? you must be as dump as the coin also i think. right.. we all want a profit for sure.

They have different developer so don't question that like choice or option and in price also because they do develop by any kinds of strategy and moves so some coins are high and some coins are low,you can easy think that crypto are really big but different way of development by any investors.I think also don't think too much about a topic that no one can achieve on it like this topic of choice and option.

If there will be no bitcoin and ethereum, i think what people will be looking for will be those coins that also has the same traits, we have a lot of those when we check out altcoins, for example monero, it also also like bitcoin, we can transact anonymously, and for ethereum, i can say we have waves, a lot of coin is also being procuded by waves and they have real value, just like erc20 coins for ethereum.

Ripple, Bitcoin Cash and Litecoin for the moment. In the future, we will see.

Are you actually serious about your statement "it is better to have no ethereum than bitcoin because bitcoin has more ways to use..." If we look at the market now, almost all of the coins in there are ethereum-based coins so if we removed ethereum then what do you think will happen? Seriously.

Anyway, if bitcoin and ethereum ceased to exist, I think I will be investing on LTC, EOS and NEO. I like these coins and I believe in its great potential although it is currently undervalued right now.

Right now probably ENIGMA, ICON and RAIBLOCKS > I always look for strong team and growth potential in the long term.
I use LTC and BCASH for day to day transaction when needed.

Assuming ETH is a scam is not enough reason. Imagine all coins that are starting to be tradable has it's own creator and it's own owner ofcourse if they owned a coins like eth they are always have some eth in their wallet such as 1/4 of all tokens because it is their own token and they give their whole support and whole knowledge and skills just only to become successful with that coin. So, instead of giving them such a bad reaction just place your foot on their own shoes and feel the overflowing happiness.

If you don't have two of them, maybe you don't have a cryptocurrency market, so it's completely empty talk.

If there is no bitcoin or ethreum I would like to go with btcx because the project of the btcx is similar to bitcoin and etherum

it is funny how new accounts are always comparing bitcoin and ethereum and talk about two as if they are the same!
ETH is a shitty premined coin with a lot of issues and lots of exploits and problems, while bitcoin is the only cryptocurrency that could ever live up to the name currency.

Litecoin prove in the market that they have a good potential to shine the price increase in 2017 and if theres no btc and eth I think litecoin will be the one in the top this is also my one of the best coin that I hold so far.
My other choose altcoin are monero, ripple and eos with have a good Developer inside the transaction are fast compare to bitcoin so this will have a potential to be the no. 1 crypyocurrency.

Then, ETH and BTC can indeed considered as ambassadors, just because they are well-known, even further than just in the community. However, all the crypto-currencies do not exist for the purpose of becoming widely used. Some, were only created as trading tools, others as betting tools...

So actually, your choice depends on what is your goal!

It's simple if Bitcoin never exists then I highly doubt we can see any cryptocurrencies scene. I'm sure Bitcoin is the first revolutionary technology that greatly improves how the world economy works. Well, yeah there is some research about digital currency back then, but Bitcoin is the first who started it.

That is like saying why have other brands of cola when you have Coca Cola and Pepsi. Competition in a market is good, keeps everybody more honest. Monopolies are never a good thing. Any good alt coin has something new to offer. Litecoin is a quicker cheaper version of Bitcoin for example. Some like Monero are aimed at maintaining privacy. I have some of each of those

my choice is neo and dash. I follow these two coins very closely. I predicted NEO would be up to 100$, but I could not make much investment. I'm more hopeful of Dash this year. I think the ranking and the market value will be better. :)

XRP and IOTA are my choices. Very promising IOTA coins, I recommend it to everyone.

I agree. IOTA is a very promising coin in the long term. In the near future, the Internet of Things and fast and free transactions will be distributed using IOTA.

Besides choosing BTC and ETH, I would go for other top crypto currency. Will use those coins for storage value and to make long term profit. There are litecoin and Dash coin for using them as storage value. To make quick profit right now, I would go for Ripple.

I would research carefully and buy good altcoins. I can't say exactly I will go with this and that as there are lots of good altcoins in the market. Right now, I'm interested in ripple, litecoin and monero. So I choose them.

I will use Xem for long term yes well all know XEm is no. 2 in terms of provider next to XRP. you know why i dont like xrp coz they are more centralize than any coins out there they have big partnership on banks and that's make unconvince.

I really like NEO, Waves and NEM. Because they use pos instead of POW. I do not understand ripple at all. I would say that they are too centralized.

I think Ripple will have brighter future than bitcoin as it works will banks and in the general public's eyes it is more trustworthy. I also like privacy coin like deeponion which provides 100% anonymity in transactions. Both have good potentials to become good candidates in the market.

A market without ETH is forced to replace it with the NEO, so suddenly the bitcoin is not essential so we could replace it with MONERO

My first choice would be ripple, it is rank 2 now, just after bitcoin, transfer ripple take seconds rather than hours. by the time I post , it worth 3.3usd per coin.
second will be litecoin, only 84000000 available, it with be worth 1/4 of bitcoin, the third will be deeponion. deeponion just started , it has huge potential in my opinion.

Well ill choose ripple. Right now it is next to BTC in terms of value and has very high circulating supply. Also, it's already stable in several aspects and even better than BTC in terms of fees added for conversion.

As long as there are investments that pouring in a certain coin this coin will keep on running. It just happen that Ethereum and Bitcoin are much more investors than other coins but we could not predict the future in which bitcoin alone have many enemies and the threat of crash was always there. I bet Bitcoin cash and Ripple because they are gaining the momentum now.

Thats because they are from a different developer, and every developer want have profit. all altcoin have their own characteristics and own business.

There are several altcoins I would consider aside from Bitcoin and Ethereum. I might be going to Ripple (XRP) or Stratis (Strat). There is also Waves of course, one of the most trusted of all altcoins. And why don't we consider the project which is very much undervalued, which is Ethereum Classic (ETC)? There is also NEM (XEM) and IOTA. Actually, there are so many nice options out there.

I would definitely go with DeepOnion, I think the developers are very hard working and push out some nice cool features. Community is also great and supportive, everyone wants it to succeed.

In fact bitcoin and ethereum are my favorite cryptos when it comes to investing, so for me it would be very difficult to choose another option in the market. I have heard good references from Cardano and a few altcoins, but honestly all my expectations are set in the development of the HashGraph protocol and I have no doubt that it can certainly mean a serious threat to all current blockchain-based crypts.

BTC and ETH are favorites so they are at the top of the coinmarketcap. Well, all this time I often choose altcoin which has a low rate but has a great opportunity to experience price increases, could be due to large volumes. It's often called a sleeping giant. I think it's more effective, let's just say Stellar, NXT, and Ripple.

If there's no BTC and ETH, there are still other altcoins out there to choose from. Remember that good altcoins have unique businesses so its for you to research and decide which altcoin to chose from. If I were to ask I'd probably go with the top 10 on CMC aside from XRP  ;D

Bitcoin is the pioneer of blockchain technology. It is the first ever digital coin which initially started to bring the idea of digital p2p currency into reality. That is the reason why it is popular among other coins. ETH started late but due to its technological superiority it cam up to this level. However, recently Ripple has overtaken the ETH and became 2nd in terms of market cap just after the bitcoin.

Seeing this exponential growth of both ETH and Ripple, I have invested in both of them. I also have a plan to invest in some more coins like Dash or Litecoin in recent future. I am just studying them now.

To be honest for me now XEM one of the best with good core. Maybe not bad idea to hold ripple. And Also I hold some SALT I think it will grow, I like their idea .

There are numerous altcoins that are worth considering. Bitcoin and Ethereum have their own niche in the market and so are others. They have their own place in the market and some stand out from the rest. You can first assess them through their whitepaper and compare them to other altcoins that have the same niche. Some are for privacy, storage, digital gifts, online gambling etc. You can always find coins that have the edge from the other and from that you can at least know where to invest. Just diversify your portfolio and invest what you can afford to lose.

Other altcoins also have their own purpose and agenda and it's the demand of the people who dictates their market price that even made one of these altcoins to over run ETH and seems this alt coin is never looking back anymore.

I think other coins like Monero and Ripple will be out of their safehouses when btc and eth is no more a trend or a scam. Monero and Ripple has a potential to do such as increasing its own value and can be used on any transaction. Monero and Ripple performed so well just like bitcoin on past years.

I choose monero and etn. I am still positive that electroneum will skyrocket to the moon. Development team should work as fast as they can so that the mobile miner will go live. I like their interface, still hoping that it will work soon.

LiteCoin implemented SegWit and can also implement the Lightning Network, so that would be my first choice after BTC and then Dash, because I think it has some pretty good anonimity features that I like.

My last choice would be BCash and Ethereum and never Ripple <aka BankCoin>

If Both Ethereum and Bitcoin is ceased, this is not the end of digital coin or cryptocurrency there are  still better Altcoin which will be better than this two coins in the future, its better to start investing in it now. As for me, I will chose and invest in Monero, Bitcoin Cash, ADA or even Ripple, they all have the potential and brighter future. They Might not be cheap but it pays to buy few qualities of them.

I will choose LTC and Dash because these coins are not like pump and dump like other alts, the leading coins should be a little bit consistent.
XRP is also a good option but not the best one because it also have some controversial background and also have a bit pump and dump nature.

good question, plenty of altcoins around, most of them are just shitcoin but if i have to choose id go with litecoin, my first love back in the days because with a small laptop i could mine some dust while working.
Had couple of LTC forgotten for years and exchanged for BTC 1 year ago.

One thing you will note in cryptocurrency is that you will never find a perfect crypto. you have to decide what you want for yourself in joining crypto investment. Based on your decision, you can now make your choice accordingly. For me BTC and ETH are good.

If there is no btc and no Eth, there won't be any other cryptocurrency. Each and every altcoin that we use purely got into development with bitcoin or Eth as the base. Also each and every altcoin is valued in terms of bitcoin and ethereum. Maybe I could have invested into dogecoin if bitcoin hasn't got into existence.

A better future to choose an altcoins, for having a lots of opportunity to make life contented as a bitcoiners. Its the best way to make more invest and specially for having a lots of profit to earn. Bitcoin is the best choose one first in the history in all. And it helps a lot.

I agree that Bitcoin is the starter that brought Cryptocurrency to fame. Without it, most people won't even know about Crypto now.
While for Ethereum, most coins are built on it, without it, most alt coins won't even be around and the only coins traders would be trading would most likely be only Bitcoin.

Why are we going to choose one thing that won't happen since it is already existing and we cannot change the fact that bitcoin is the mother of all cryptocurrency so I don't see any reason to choose from other coins, but still exploring things to other coins by trading in them. But if bitcoin was not the first crypto of course the first ever we will all be loyal to it.

The dominance of ETH began to be disrupted by other altcoins that were also profitable, such as XLM and XRP. However, ETH and BTC already have a strong market and remain the top choice. If I had to choose, I am currently more interested in potential ico.

No doubt I will choose the Ripple (XRP) for sure. Actually the market cap of the XRP is more interesting like BTC/ETH and so I think it is worthy to keep this kind of coins in hand for future purpose!!

Not on the market yet, but I would choose Wanchain. Very bullish on the project, and seems a safe bet to me - not as safe as BTC and eth of course, but still. Since the cap will be much lower than other (high ranking) alts, should be a safe bet for high gains imo.

All other coins are based on value of a project, so without bitcoins and Ether, other people are interested on coins or tokens to purchase thier services. So as a results , if bitcoins and ether is not available , other coins will still be demanded.

ripple and litecoin will be my top 2 choices. Both co-writers have good dev team and have a pretty fast growth rate. Ripple will be the ecosystem used by most banks xrp is the future of the world banking industry. Litecoin is the fastest growing coin ever faster than bitcoin in 2017.

Mine would be @Viberate or VIB coin. This coin is already growing and there's no sign of slowing in the past 2 weeks i think this will be a great year for VIB coin. Already invested on it.

I think first of all I don't even think crypto market without Bitcoin or Ethereum. There is no point discuss about crypto market without Btc or Ethereum. These both coins are heart of crypto market. Apart from this my choice would be Dash, Waves, DeepOnion, Xmr and Bitcoin cash. I think these coins will also do well in coming years.

My personal choice would be those coins with real world projects and POS coins. BUZZ is undervalued right now and highly recommended due to its staking. Do your own research in finding good altcoins to invest in, check their roadmap and the team behind the development.

That is no discussion. Every coin has its own features and usage, and all of them have some users. It is for sure clear that these two major coins has the most vast user's base, but among those users, there are also a lot of users who use other coins along with them. A person do not just use Bitcoin or ETH because they have the highest values in market or biggest market caps, but they buy other coins too, though for day trading or any other purpose but atleast the coins are circulating every now and then.

And my altcoin to invest when no Bitcoin and no Ethereum are those currencies that provide a purpose or value, future applications in our everyday lives, and solid growth, and management team are the ones I personally invest in. I think of investing on coins undervalued because of lack of awareness, but which have strong infrastructure or interesting economic models.Coin like Dimcoin,Dogecoin, etc

For me that would be Ripple due to the good development team behind it and I see a good future for it. Another good option for me is Waves.

Other coins have more potential for growth! If you go in on a smaller coin you have a greater potential for profit quickly as the coin grows.

Maybe I will choose litecoin and ripple because i really do believe all cryptocurrency has potential to grow even there's one digital currency is best in all. I think they will grow like bitcoin and ethereum if we give all cryptocurrency the chance to become profitable by using it.

My choice is NEO, but I don't have nay coins with them, there are lot of coins that are arising daily. Hero is another coin for me since Ive had 10k and their price growth too increasing in the minimal time.

Since you are taking away the two most popular coins, I well say that my money is on LTC, ETC, monero and dash, to me those are some of the best projects out there and support them.

There are many other interesting cryptocurrencies which I would be if both Bitcoin and Ethereum disappeared. Zcash, Dash, IOTA are all interesting in my opinion and that's why I try to study them. I wouldn't go for XRP due to its centralized nature and associations with banks.

Who says that ETH and BTC are digital coin Ambassador, maybe itu would be appropriate when you say that ETH and BTC is more popular than the other coins. Actually, the other coins are also in running because to make ETH and also BTC blockchain are still balance, you can Imagine if we only have ETH and BTC, and then all of people in the world are doing transaction by using both of them, You can imagine how high the fee of btc blockchain and also gas prices for ETH, and how long it takes to transfer them to another wallet. The existance of the other coins will make us to have an alternative coin when we wanna do the transaction with a low cost.

NEO has a good development team which is very promising along with their good projects in the line up. Not looking at the current value but checking its roadmap, I would say this is a good coin next to BTC and ETH.

Other coins are the same as bitcoin and ethereum the only diffedence are their platform thats why other coins still running because investors still invest on them. It just happen that bitcoin and ethereum are the two most traded and most successful cryptocurrency today.

If bitcoin hasn't came to existence, we could have never seen an innovation named ethereum. Similarly no other altcoins too have existed. I too have not come to know about this, and could have looked for some other platform or for some investment scheme.

I may choose DNC bar. As an emerging digital currency, DHC has plenty of room for growth and its companies belong to the emerging industries.

If we exclude these two coins, they remain for me Stellar, Ethereum Classic and IOTA.

In such way - Bitcoin Cash would take the place of original Bitcoin. NEO or another crypto with working smart contracts would take the place of Ethereum. NEO speed is about 10k trans per sec, now it is enough. Waves also would show a great result.

I will choose altcoin that has a clear vision and mission, for example Ethereum and Dash

If there is no Ethereum or Bitcoin available in the crypto-currencies trading market, I guess my choice would be taking on Litecoin, Bitcoin Cash and Monero, these few altcoins are showing great potential in their development and I really enjoy using Litecoin with the lighting network confirmations.

BCH very optimistic about the future, I feel BCH should be able to appreciate the characteristics of it I will not say, mainly to say that its team, or quite serious work, R & D team is not bad, I feel a bit of investment value, personal opinion

If no BTC or ETH then XMR/ZEC/LTC for me

Why, after the successful experience of bitcoin and the ethereal, many companies also wanted to go their way. Each coin has its own ideas and plans for the future. Not all of them are good, but many are worthy of your attention.

Well, I think crypto is a race for the better one, a one that could bring us greater performance. One that could help us through our daily sending funds.

My choice is waves and dash.  Monero also comes on the favourites list.

I choose dent. I started to believe that dent it will grow. I managed to buy a lot of dent since the price was very low.

I'd invest in another coin, Waves is alright though I prefer to have MaidSafe to get more credit than it deserves.

Ltc would be a good choice with the speed of transaction and the stability in price and besides ltc ETC in terms of stability would be a good coin to trade with.

for me ETN or electroneum is a good choice. ETN's value maybe decreasing now. But I believe it will go end as a 40$ this year. Look from a small value the one who invested in it can be a millionaire without doing anything just waiting for the value of the coin to mature. Techniques in investing is to hold your coin. Don't be a short investor.

Bitcore, best and first hybrid fork of bitcoin, better than bcash, btg and all of those coins. I predict it will boom.
Has been called the smartest fork by one of the bitcoin developers.

Each one has its own characteristics. ETH is an intelligent contract, and ripple is a gateway service mostly supported by the banks.After Eth and BTC i guess the other potential altcoins with blockchain purpose driven and smart contracts can suuceed, Cardano,Neo, Raiblocks ,Arcblock are good substitutes

That's not, This is your wrong idea. ETH and BTC not only digital coin. But its true that the source/starting coin is bitcoin. After more popularity of bitcoin, then others coins creation. But others coin has good stability now and its going so cool.

ZCash, OMG, Litecoin and now, Cindicator.

if not they may be some bitcoin and other digital currencies that work together with ETH and BTC will not be created because all altcoin or cryptocurrency is currently created because they are supported with blockchain platform from Bitcoin and ETH through smart contract. none of those digital currencies can be created but will not be like bitcoins and ETHs that have transparency in transactions and are accepted across the country.
