Title: HP 2250w Server PSU and ATX Pico problems
Post by: polymer_city2 on January 03, 2018, 07:26:23 AM
Can anyone help with this annoying issue.

I have lots of these PSU's running on lots of Antminers, but I want to run my GPU rigs off them.

https://www.picclickimg.com/d/l400/pict/132418693851_/HP-Power-Supply-Blade-Server-2250w-HOT-PLUG.jpg

I can't get the Pico to "turn on" when using these.

I managed to get one rig on my plugging the card direct to the MB and then the Pico started.

So I am gussing that this PSU needs a load of some sort to actually start.

Anyone know how to get the PSU to run ?

I'm assuming you have GPUs connected to the PSU with powered risers?  That should be enough load for the PSU to power on and thus power on the pico.

I have a feeling it is the PSU, and the 12V is too high for the MB.

I have read someone had issues where the 12V was closer to 12.5V and the MB just didn’t like it.

MSI z170a Pro Carbon

So GPU’s and risers all powered from PSU

Tried taking MB 12V direct from PSU (rather than through PICO)

Run it through PICO

Tried with 4pin -> 8 pin EPS

My DPS-2000bb PSU’s turn the MB on fine using PICO.

So it seems the PSU is giving too much or too little to start the board?!
