Title: [TRC] poll : revert to basic static retargetting Post by: bitcoinreactor on August 05, 2013, 03:59:33 AM source: https://github.com/terracoin/terracoin/issues/14
According to some users, an email was already sent to TRC mailinglist announcing the upcoming update, returning to a standard bitcoin retarget. not quite sure about what would be the best choice though. Title: Re: [TRC] poll : revert to basic static retargetting Post by: bitcoinreactor on August 06, 2013, 07:06:28 AM hrm i guess i can close this poll (we have a draw!), https://github.com/terracoin/terracoin/issues/14 was updated over night:
Quote terracoin commented 12 hours ago ok, will definitely forget any per block retargetting, it would cause too many problems (convergence/...), and TRC really needs to get more stable now. testnet now retargets every 9 blocks, using timings from the last 108 blocks. Every retarget is limited to +/- 1/12th. Livechain will retarget at 180 blocks intervals (6hours) using timings from the last 2160 blocks (3days). Every single retarget is limited to 1/12th. pushing code and will later build/publish a dev windows build. now "ramping up" testnet and doing a few tests. and finally: Quote terracoin commented 12 hours ago will test this for 1 or 2 days on testnet before merging code up (release then master branches), will then release code with choosen block height for the switch over. dev-0.1.3-143 published with active testnet code. So BTC-e with their 100 confirms don't take as long. It's a good opportunity for TRC to become a faster transaction SHA256 coin.
