Hi there guys... I’ve been wondering if it’s a good idea to mine with my notebook, a 3 years old toshiba satellite with a intel i7-4700MQ and a NVIDIA GeForce 740M... Consider that in the place where I live I would not pay this little energy I’d consume and that I don’t use that much this computer... what do you think or suggest?

It is not worth mining with. If you have a laptop that's powerful enough to mine even somewhat effectively, and it's one that you wouldn't mind damaging as you run it 24/7 with a laptop cooling system, then you may as well sell it. (The proceeds could then be put towards an actual mining system and/or directly exchanged for coins.)

Notebook have a limit even Highest processor and GPU
Old Laptop have a limit like a human the performance can degrade
Many notebook just have small amount of power.

If you want destroy your laptop with small amounts of coin, you can do it. But if you love your laptop maybe you can join a some faucet or signature advertise.

You mining with low resource for high risk? dont do that brother, safe your notebook is better :)

Given a good processor, you could ьmine something like Monero, but if the desktop does not overheat so likely,
then the laptop with its weak cooling system can not stand it. Think, do you need it?

Notebooks are not capable to run 24/7 at 100% loads because of the poor cooling system.
But If it's only for research purpose you could try.

Unfortunately I need the pc, I can't sell it...

From this site it doesn't seem impossible to mine... And I can limit the usage of the GPU right? Once I used Minergate... Do you suggest using the same program again?

It's not impossible to mine, it's just a question of whether the returns are worth it.

Personally I have not tried it, so I am not sure if you can use Wattman (AMD) or Afterburner (NVIDIA) to control GPU usage.

Minergate is probably an easy way for beginners to start mining. Once you get more experience you can look into mining directly with the pools.

please just don't do it.
it's really really unprofitable.
it won't even close to pay your electricity bill
