Title: How can Ripples be safely stored if computer needs reinstalled?
Post by: VXII on January 03, 2018, 07:28:59 PM
Question as title. In this case the option to use a hardware wallet is not possible. The Ripple's are also not supposed to be stored on an exchange, so I figure the likes of Electrum, Rippex or Toast might be the best solution?

I am also not looking for multiple transfers to keep fees to the minimum. Any opinion will be very appreciated.

Ripple have their own desktop wallet called "Ripple Desktop Wallet", just head over to their website and download it from there. They provide simple instructions, and if you lose your wallet, just retrieve by using your private key.

Thanks a lot for your input, shaun98. I checked but could not find a reference to Ripple Desktop Wallet on the Ripple website. This service seems to have been replaced by Rippex last year. Is that what you are referring to?
