Title: Why it happens?
Post by: rizabbasi on January 04, 2018, 05:30:03 AM
Hi,

Why is that the wallet I created from the designated site (e.g. BTGwallet.online in bitcoingold.org) is identified as invalid in pool balance check i.e. when I enter the BTG wallet address in zcash.flypool.org it says that its an invalid address. I believe that wallet address should be recognized by all services. It has been created not by some unknown service but by using designated site of the coin.

Note: I am referring 34 char long by the title Address (Share) as the wallet address.

Your views?

Regards,

Rizwan

Unless I'm misunderstanding your question, zcash.flypool.org does NOT offer payouts in BTG. While Zcash and BTG both use equihash for mining, this does not allow you to use any Zcash pool to mine Bitcoin Gold, nor the opposite.

If you want to mine Bitcoin Gold with a pool, then you must find a pool that specifically supports Bitcoin Gold.

Thanks. As per bitcointalk post its mentioned that it can be used for BTG:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1670733.msg16775023#msg16775023

SAMPLE USAGE

 flypool SSL/TLS connection:
   ZecMiner64.exe -zpool ssl://eu1-zcash.flypool.org:3443 -zwal t1RjQjDbPQ9Syp97DHFyzvgZhcjgLTMwhaq.YourWorkerName -zpsw x

flypool (unencrypted connection):
   ZecMiner64.exe -zpool eu1-zcash.flypool.org:3333 -zwal t1RjQjDbPQ9Syp97DHFyzvgZhcjgLTMwhaq.YourWorkerName -zpsw x

Flypool is for Zcash not for Bitcoin Gold.

Set up an account on Suprnova or MiningPoolHub and mine BTG there. I can attest that both of those pools have worked well for us to mine BTG.

Here is a simple .bat file to mine BTG on Suprnova with Claymore's Equihash miner....

ZecMiner64.exe -zpool  btg.suprnova.cc:8816 -zwal YourUserID.WorkerName -zpsw YourPassword -allpools 1
pause

You will need to change the text in bold to match your account of course.

Nowhere on that thread does Claymore recommend using the Flypool's Zcash pool for BTG.

The mining software itself can mine Zcash or Bitcoin Gold, or any other of the coins based on equihash. Using an appropriate pool remains your responsibility.
