Title: [WTS] Avalon Asic batch 2 miner - in hand
Post by: evstla on August 06, 2013, 05:18:08 PM
I am selling an Avalon Asic batch #2 miner that has been running very smoothely at a 7 day 24 hour hash rate average of about 69.5 Ghash over 71Ghas .  This miner has never been overclocked and has only been run in an air conditioned room.

Is it the picture or do you still have it in the plastic sheets? It will burn something up if you do...

I never thought about that, it is definitely cool to the touch after running for a long time.  I guess the plastic serves no purpose at this point.

It melted to the case, if you don't take it off you will most likely overheat something and your avalon will die. Just a fair warning.

thanks for heads up, but it is cool to the touch and plastic has definitely not melted to the case in any way, it would be the same to pull the plastic off now as it would to be the day I got it.

you were right:

from en.bitcoin.it: "About the plastic sheets: please remove them BEFORE mining. we design the case as a part of heatsink, so remove the plastic sheets is a must"

plastic sheets removed

Thanks

Um..... I dont have the plastic sheet on the "open" side removed. Open meaning the side the modules are NOT mounted too... I dont see how that side serves any purpose in cooling. Now the side the modules are mounted too, functions as a heatsink...yes
Most B2's, if not all came with no plastic on the side that had the modules mounted.

Ive been running my avy for a couple months w/ no adverse affect and the plastic has not melted off...lol, the side mentioned barely gets warm.

Just to give you some feedback

BTC is $118.50 right now.  BTC60 is $7110

So you are basically charging $100 per GH

Anyone on this website can but ASIC Miner blades (13GH) @ $1025 USD for immediate delivery

which is $78USD a GH

You have to be at $70 gh to get any attention in my opinion. Which is BTC42

I thought I should just write a couple words at this point to those who may care.

I understand the value of this miner is low and keeps getting lower as the difficulty goes up.  The problem for me is that I already have achieved a very good ROI with this miner, so keeping it for me is just icing on the cake until it turns into a brick when the electricity cost outweighs the btc generated.  So, I would prefer to sell it and even though I said please make an offer, I probably should have said that offers below 35 will most likely not be considered at this point.

Thanks!

answer here

Hi,
It is kind of hard for me to let go of it at that price.  I realize the problem here, we all know that the ROI gets worse and worse as time goes on, but for me I already have a great ROI so for me just keeping it mining is like free money.  I want to get rid of it because I don't like the idea of having a big black box brick in a few months!  I see these things still going on eBay for as much as 7k, but I know that most people on eBay don't know what they are doing.  I don't want to deal with the hassle of what that could mean, plus I hate the idea of letting eBay/paypal get all those fees.  Anyways, I write all this to say that 27 is way too low for me and even 37 seems low, I think I would be willing to let it go for sure at 45.  I understand your perspective and I hope you understand mine a little better.  So, if you want to negotiate closer to 45 than absolutely lets discuss.
Thanks

I guess a fair market price would be a little less than 40 (36-38BTC). Even at that price though, ROI would be difficult (if at all possible). If anyone gets near it I'd advise you sell it. ;)
