Title: Safe Ethereum paperwallet
Post by: Versaldex on January 05, 2018, 11:37:41 AM
Hello,

I am looking for a offline paperwallet for Tron. If i understand correctly, Tron belongs to ERC-20 and is compatible with an Ethereum wallet, right?

I found myetherwallet and followed the instructions to create a paperwallet, however the keystone file -containing the private key- is not generated offline but must be downloaded- which is in my opinion is huge security risk.

Is there any possible way to generate an Ethereum paperwallet completely offline?

Thank you indeed!

Any idea how to solve that?
Thank you!

Exactly, could someone please help and explain?  In my understanding, one has to download the keystone file which has already the private key in it, so if e.g. at the moment of download someone has your computer hacked, your private key and hence your money is gone.
Is this correct? Could someone correct me if I am wrong? Thank you!!

Yes, it is right.
For more confidence you can use the cold wallet of any ether-like currency on a new system never seen by the Internet and create a file there
As such a currency may be Pearl, EXP or something else. They do not even need to be synchronized to create a keystore wallet file. All of them are compatible with ETH

Just start using Google more extensively.

Nobody will make you a picture step by step.

Myetherwallet have GitHub

https://github.com/MyEtherWallet

Download it locally and generate as many wallets as you want.

do not worry if you have to download from the official wallet website ethereum is myetherwallet, I think it is very safe. if you do not want to download, maybe you can make screnshoot or photo address eth and private key it.
