Title: Lessons to learn from Crypto
Post by: rsrb on January 05, 2018, 03:52:59 PM
Trading can be fun or a Mess even if you are new the luck may be in your favour but don't do anything when everyone see it as an opportunity to gain quick profits out of now where

Well this goes according to the bitcoin dominance in the market right now its 40% so this will not affect the alt coin that much but if the btc dominance goes higher you could expect the sudden red scenario so always Remember HODL

Just keep seeing and never sell in less from which rate you have buy !

P.S: if you are in Ripple Then start selling your alts as this may go up too but you might end up losing too take out your profit and then enjoy its all bankers game ;)

Bitcoin's dominance will become less and less, I think 2018 indeed will be a year of altcoins.

Now, i am beginning to see that bitcoin dominance will be minimal in 2018 though it is too early to say. I would love altcoins to see more gain and growth and not having that hanging on the growth of bitcoin.

Yep, I agree with TC, for me too - the most important lesson that I got from crypto is patience. And take your fomo under control. All things that I got here are closely intertwined with the control of emotions. Correct emotions are the key

I think this was always going to happen with Bitcoin with Ethereum giving rise to all these tokens coming out quicker. More tokens equal less money for every individual coin. It was easy for BTC to have above 50% dominance in the early years but I think in the coming years it won't surpass 50% ever.

That's an extremely terrible piece of advice to give (Referring to your "never sell below the rate you buy at")! Think about it. If you bought an alt at 1000 satoshi a year ago, you only spent 1 cent. Today, if your alt is worth only 500 satoshi, you can still sell it and it'll gain you 7.5 cents. That's a huge return on fiat. Always stick to your regime. Never make any trade without a stop loss. For me this means about 10% of the satoshi value BECAUSE Bitcoin is so expensive now. But if Bitcoin started to crash, I'd raise my SL too.

Learning much more in crypto can always be based on those experiences that you have like those mentioned stop loss or whatsoever as part of the decision making that you have. Moreover with the previous months that has passed last year, many times I was on feeling that regrets of not holding those crypto coins due to rush mindset and not thinking about holding. That's why those suggestions mentioned really made mr more more mature in learning how crypto works in all our lives.

Always make a research on the project you would to buy-in, the best would be to never sell for a loss, but sometimes you have to close in a loss and move forward to another project.

This lesson should remember everything! Because the newcomers now panic. Until now, the market has been growing, but now prices are falling. Beginners start to sell in a minus. Hold on! Soon the market will start to grow again.

don't trust books or pdf lessons on crypto, because crypto currency exchanges are the newest thingh that the mankind has learned. its not have a 300-400 years like normal exhanges.

My lesson I got this year. When bitcoin grows - turn off the exchange, do not do anything and go to the pub. Anyway, the growth of bitcoin will end and the development of altcoins will continue. We must wait, maybe a couple of months. But selling everything and buying bitcoin when it's too late is a bad option.

I agree with you, never forget HODL. but most new members are too scared to do so, so they do panic sell, and of course it will make them loss

As Bitcoin started to go minimal for their price since the few months before they were too fast to rise up like a rocket and now it's like an old car trying to run but who knows what it's gonna be like after this month. For those who holds altcoins, you gamble to hold your altcoin if you see any potential to it in the future.

Actually this is slogan that we can use when we buy and hold any of altcoin. Never sell in less price of your buying price.
But please note that its good slogan if you are applied it to top marketcap altcoin and not for not promissing low marketcap altcoin.

Bitcoin's dominance will become less and less, I think 2018 indeed will be a year of altcoins.

This is also what I think about. Well Alt coins becoming more and more well known and many of us are more engage in trading system here in this organization. So I guess 2018 will be the rise of Alt coins. You should try and learn how to trade altcoins to altcoins, altcoins to coins. This will be a great impact that I think will happen this 2018.

Though what you said is true, there are times that a certain coin/token becomes x10 of the original price and its something regretful to those who sell their at an early time.

To hold altcurrencies for long term can be risky and can lead to a tremendous amount of losses. To decide whether to hodl an altcoin or not strongly depends on the project itself. There was Signatum to give you a good example where the devs ran away leaving everything and everybody behind. Luckily Straks took it over but many investors ended up with huge losses. Always do your due diligence and act accordingly.

I slowly got addicted to trading and while its true i got profit from it, if i had just left all the money i had invested last year in the coins i had put it in, i would have been far better off right now

for me, winning and loosing is another thing.. the most important is your portofolio
cutloss and then change into other coins that going higher is a strategy too
if you sure coins will go higher, soon move into that coin if you don't have another BTC or fiat to buy, sell another coins that have low movement at the moment
after new coin go higher and you heard about new coin that will go higher, jump into it again
repeat until your loss is heal
