Title: What am I Doing Wrong After Two Months of Crypto Investing
Post by: dveddfe on January 06, 2018, 12:11:57 AM
So I hear people are making it big with cryptos. I started getting into the craze of Crypto investing around October. Maybe I'm doing something wrong as I'm only up 10k from the start. I'm not complaining but maybe I could do better.

I'm buying everything to the USDT. Meaning I bought LTC/USDT and now STR/USDT through Poloniex exchange. I have two alt coins on Poloniex exchange because that is where these alts are available and also, Poloniex was the only exchange that approved my account quickly.

I'm only able to deposit up to $250 a week on Coinbase, per Coinbase rule for whatever reason. So, since I started in October in investing in Cyrpto, it has been a slow process in depositing funds to Coinbase because of the rule. Also, Coinbase takes a freaking week to complete the deposit transactions.

To you experts and anyone else, any suggestions to increase the way to deposit large dollar amounts to an exchange faster?
Should I be buying the currencies in USDT (LTC/USDT i.e.) or in BTC (LTC/BTC i.e)?

Thanks

It's just either:
1. You're investing in the wrong coins.
2. You buy and sell your coins on the wrong times/prices.

I really can't comment if you being up 10k is good or bad, as this completely depends on how much capital you're investing.

I really don't know with Coinbase as it currently doesn't support my country, but maybe try purchasing using other services? Like Gemini[1] and Kraken[2].

Go with what you're comfortable with, like when calculating profits, etc.

1) Stop using coinbase they suck
2) Stop measuring your trades in USD that is sub optimal
3) Gotta dig and research there is no clean way around it if you want that moolah do that search

Use Coinbase usd wallet? Sells/Buys are practically instant then.

As long as you're profiting, you're not doing too bad :)

Better than I would after two months, for sure.

I guess you have to cool down and research on the best exchangers for swift trades. Check out Bittrex, Binance, Kraken etc
Remember to research on any altcoin before investing in it

I have realized I'm using the wrong exchange. Coinbase is only a few if not the only one that accepts USD deposits.

Probably you are investing in a wrong currency. As you should understand this that not all Cryotocurrency has a good future. Sometimes when they do not reach the target then they might be destroyed as they might not have any value . So it's better that you play safe and invest on those coins which have established a name.

This is exactly my thoughts here. You maybe investing on the wrong coin, or if you are investing on the right altcoins, maybe you are buying it at the top floor price. Of course we will definitely getting a small amount of profit or possible lost if the coin suddenly drops down. As far as trading platforms, I personally used Kraken, Binance and even Hitbtc. I choose which trading platforms is available on my end without any hassles. I also stay away from measuring my trades in USD as well, you just make things complicated on your end. Coinbase? Nah, stay away from it, I have quit trading on time long time ago because of so many issues. I think you need a little research dude on the coins that you are going to invest. Better look at the top 10 altcoins now, some of them are really good to buy and hold for long term. Goodluck to you.

First thing to note is you must have BTC balance first. You need to create a personal wallet account with your own address instead of wallet from exchanges, look into this link https://bitcoin.org/en/wallets/desktop/windows, then you need to buy Btc balance and send it to your wallet address first. For comparison of the rate of trading I usually check here first https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/volume/24-hour/ as a reference.

Wrong timing.
You want haste for everything.
Try to calm down for now.

LTC was down yesterday or two days ago I think.
It could have been just a good option to buy or just hold. This happens. Shit happens.
But after all of this there will be light at the end. If I were you I would pick the best option which is done by many. HODL.
Even just a part of that 10k will be enough.

Lots of newcomers are coming to the excahnges and they all aim for a fast profit. This is very wrong actually. It's not that easy to make money on the excahnges. They expect an easy thing but it's actually hard.

And all the newcomers come in a wrong time while all of the coins were pumped.

I think this is the right to exchange the altcoins and newcomers treat in the trading platform. We need to sell the altcoins if we own it now. Because already time is up for the holding the altcoins and now the time to sell it out only.
There here now we are seeing the bump started in the bitcoin so automatically we will find the cheap altcoins investors exchange their alts for bitcoin that is how it should be moved out.

I think you should know what is behind of coin which you will buy. Team, idea, realization of idea, listing, trading pairs - all of these factors are important for coins growth. If coin/token isnt interesting for people - it will not grow to big number. Just spend some time for analyzing before buying. That's just only my opinion

Not only that. When new comers see other gaining big profits on trading they do easily being hyped up and believing that they can do the same thing if they would decide to do such thing but sadly they do make up some loss instead but seeing on the situation of OP. Hes still new on crypto trading but 10k gain isn't bad for just starting up. Don't rush up dude. Just continue on what you are doing. It will rise up eventually as you gain experience.
