I must say that I am not surprised (all along Open Coin had stated that the purpose of XRP was not to be a currency itself - but at the same time they profited greatly by not intervening as the gullible bet on it). They are clever at "social manipulation" but I think they will find that people don't actually enjoy be tricked (especially people that have ended up losing money because of it).
