Title: UK/Africa telemedicine charity The Virtual Doctor Project accepts Bitcoin Post by: virtualdoctors.org on August 08, 2013, 12:26:55 PM The Virtual Doctor Project is a UK registered charity that connects rural health clinics in Africa with volunteer doctors around the world via the local mobile broadband network. This allows our 'virtual doctors’ to offer free diagnostic and treatment advice, improving the primary health care in local communities and helping to reduce the level of unnecessary mortality and number of referrals to distant hospitals.

We are trying to make a huge difference to very poor areas using the technology that most of us take for granted. I've sent them a small donation. I've been talking to the two principles at VirtualDoctors.org (http://VirtualDoctors.org) and we are all in agreement that they want to try and get the Bitcoin economy kick started by buying what equipment they can find from feasible suppliers in Bitcoin. I and some of the other community members are going to help out with this. Can anyone suggest reliable places to buy computers and digital cameras from in the UK with Bitcoin? I'm also working on a few UK suppliers to start taking bitcoin so watch this space... |
