Title: opera mini on android
Post by: zenyfomax1 on January 06, 2018, 11:31:43 PM
anyone using it? this app is a convenient alternative mobile browser. it offers bandwidth saving, ad blocking, and it is much more convenient to open many tabs using it than using the default chrome browser.

but lately there are so many annoyances and i'm about to have had enough with this app. it pops up ads of news articles when not active (can be blocked via app settings, but strangely on my asus zenfone some popup are still shown regardless), it pops up an interstitial ad when reopened or from time to time during browsing, and the worst is it currently has a bug of going back to home page when reopened (and thus forgetting whatever page you were on when you switched from it; the forgotten page is not even in the history). so annoying.

anybody using alternatives? any recommended ones?

I'm using it on android and goes smoothly. You can use dolphin browser if you continue to experience those in opera.

I used to use it, it was pretty good, but I was too used to my older browser. It's not so much that I stopped using and uninstalled it, but rather that without even noticing whenever I needed to use the internet I would go back to my old browser. And then I had to do a reinstall and forgot to install it. But I thought it was good.

to continue my own thread...

i've tried switching to UC browser (the mini and the normal version), also the Yandex browser (the mini and normal version).

all of them are more crappy and annoying than opera mini, being also ridden with ads but at the same time having serious bugs and lacking features. so i had to go back to opera.

I used to use it. It was quite a good platform for browsing, but we are talking a couple of years ago. I am not as familiar now.

what do you mean "activities very bad". opera mini can handle many many tabs, plus it won't lose your tab if the app crashes. so at least in terms of tab management it's better than chrome, firefox...

It used to be my favorite browser. But now a days it's getting slow day by day and they have incorporated mandatory ad while browsing. It's annoying. Chrome is getting better day by day and much more user friendly.
