It took me a while to figure this out last night.

Download bluestacks emulator for android apps on Windows.

Download bither + bitpie.

Sweep all your bitcoin into another trezor or similar wallet before this step:

1) import your (now empty) seed into bither unnder hdm account recovery https://imgur.com/a/YH1Cq
it then syncs and shows you balance of BCD and SBTC and also BTW (wtf is that?)
2) Simply click get BCD (it then asks you for a bitpie bcd address, I tried sending direct to an exchange but it didn't work
3) send to bitpie, then exchange

cash out.

Same can be done for SBTC.

I cashed mine out last night and made an extra few bitcoins, pretty easily. I came across a dozen scam websites/fake wallets asking for mnemonics and so on before this so figured people could do with an easy solution.

When you have 100s of bitcoins storing them on an exchange just to get a shitcoin isn't wise :)

i am using binance and they did not give me diamond

Binance will get you all the forks, but not all of them can be traded on binance. But Binance is still a good exchange.

You have done well by sharing this with us. With the abundance of several websites and Twitter accounts looking for way to scam individuals of their bitcoin at the end of the day one would pay much to earn little and the little won't even show up. But what amazes me is that with information like this people still fall for scams and it will do much good if you could post the link to the website because going on Google might be the beginning of the scam because of the enormous phishing site.

Some exchanges stoking your fork tokens. They takes all tokens of forks of your balances for themselves. Easy money for them :-) if you want some free forks better to use wallet on your pc...

So where did you deposit and sell your BCD and SBTC, gate.io? How to get a Ledger Nano S into Bither? It don't support bip39, right? I know Coinomi does but I don't think they support bcd and sbtc.

I don't think Bitcoin Diamond is already available for the split on the ledger, thay will probably support it sooner or later.

I am not interested to these new alts but just in case I know some online wallets support hardcore like freebitco.in that gives equivalent amount of your savings for whatever new coin is available or introduce but I haven't received any equivalent to this I don't even know that these two coins exist. But just in case I think I need to do some research about it and see if these two were good coins to have

No it's not available but there are other methods. A 24 word bip39 mnemonic can be imported into Coinomi android app for example but it doesn't help here since they do not support bcd.
I tried import phrase into Bither (as HD wallet) but it didn't find any bcd. I used another tool to extract the exact pub/priv key where my bcd are but it didn't work either. Maybe because it's a segwit (bip49 address)? I don't know if Bither supports that.

Trying to do the same but with Ledger. Have not succeded so far. I would compile and sync up a full node but this shit doesn't even exist as source code it seems.

Worst thing that you can do, if you are just letting your bitcoins on an exchange only for claiming all those shitty forks, let me tell you that you are very EXPOSED to lose everything.

What if the exchange gets hacked? You are going to lose everything.

What if they decide to Make the Grand Mt.Gox 2.0? You are going to lose all your bitcoins only because "you wanted to claim your bitcoin crappy forks"

Just store your bitcoins on a safe place, do not do it for claiming those forks who are not even worth $50.

I've built 3 of these on Linux now - United Bitcoin, Super Bitcoin, Bitcoin Diamond. Worth noting that not all the forks necessarily change the datadir or exe names! So when I first tried this, I ended up with two EXEs called bitcoin-qt, obviously with the second overwriting the first. Then after I'd fixed that - there's a configure option to add a prefix to the EXE names - use ./configure --help to find it - one of them popped up saying it was going to use ~/.bitcoin as its datadir. This just seemed like it was going to be trouble in the long run. So I created a separate Unix user for each fork, installed each fork's binaries into somewhere in that user's home folder (e.g., by configuring it with "./configure --prefix=$HOME/usr"), added the user's binaries folder to their PATH, and ran it that way. Then each fork can do whatever it likes, it's all self-contained, and you don't have to remember to run it with --datadir=$HOME/.thatbitcoinfork or something.

This is nothing you couldn't figure out yourself, I'm sure, but maybe it will save you or somebody else the 10 minutes I spent pissing about.

Also a bonus: very easy to just remove all the fork's data when you're done with it.

Don't' download the wallet or use the wallet on that website.
Look on the official website for legit wallets to use so you can claim the coins.

I am interested inclaiming  BTCD or BCD "Bitcoin Diamond" however there are issues with your suggestion.

A trezor uses (at I am using a 24 word seed plus passphrase) Bitpie/Bither recovers using a 12 wors seed for the wallet.

so I do not believe I can recover my empty (of bitcon, not BCD) wallet with BitPie/Bither.  Do you

Know a way which that can be done?

Also note that Windows and macOS packages are not signed, so you may get a warning while running them.

That win64 is an unsigned EXE file.  I am not a DEV or programmer and do not know how to verify the integrity of such a file.

As such I am unwilling to install it on my computer.   ANY thoughts for me?

I think I extracted the coins by using the OP's method but there isn't a single fucking exchange with a working bcd deposit address available right now. So it is impossible to dump that crap. Some major scam is happening.

Thanks for sharing man. I actually didn't even claim by bitcoin gold yet, and I'm still not sure what I will do with these ones. Forks are happening to fast that it's hard to keep track. One thing is for sure, the mania around forks has settled down, and these last ones are not generating so much profits as the first two. I think forks will start to slow down, as soon as people realize that they can't keep making money out of them. Exchanges are not listing them anymore these days. Less money for us, but I guess that's still a good thing though.

I'm trying this with a Ledger Nano.  As far as I can tell, the seed of the Ledger nano is from the Bip 39 word list, if I try to enter the word list into the Bither Bip38 private key text, it says, it is not a match with bip38 private key.  This is what it said when I entered the first word and hit enter.  Maybe Im suppose to enter all the words with a space in between before pressing enter.  The HDM account recovery option wants to scan a QR code.  I only have a word list.  How do I get around that?

Download VirtualBox or something and use virtual machines. Create one for each fork. Do what you need to do and then delete.

I built the BitcoinDiamond and SuperBitcoin from source using the Linux (Ubuntu) Subsystem on Windows 10 (just out of curiosity, but it's basically the same as building on Linux) following the 'Advanced Instructions' near the bottom of this post... Had no problems doing so, although I have yet to run them to sync the blockchains, and claim whatever is the equivalent to the $500 worth of BTC I had at that time.

Just make sure you create virtual drives large enough to cover the blockchain size. I created 150GB virtual drives.

Remember to never use again the wallet you used to claim the forked coins or you'll risk loosing everything.

When trying to use this method I didn’t found any BCD or SBTC but I found some btg . But when I try to send to my bitpie’s btg address it shows error “ -25Missing Inputs”. Someone suggest please ?

The addresses and keys are the same between BTC and BCD (and between all networks in fact, see https://github.com/Ayms/bitcoin-transactions#claiming-your-coins-bchbtgbcdsbtc---addresses-and-getting-free-coins), only the encoding (ie address representation) changes, but that's not the case for BCD

You can use this https://github.com/Ayms/bitcoin-wallets to create wallets and/or convert addresses

And use bitcoin-transactions to create transactions and move/claim your coins

Be careful with BCD, they do strange things and do not reply to anything, please read https://github.com/Ayms/bitcoin-transactions#forked-coins

Then it is advised to move your bitcoins before claiming your BCDs

Not sure to understand what you want to do: send your BCDs from that exchange to another address??

Then you can use whatever BTC address you have in some of your wallets, again they are the same, or generate new ones with bitcoin-wallets

For all the forks, as long as ppl control their bitcoin private keys, they also control the private keys of each fork. So what is the point of the software you linked, which allows one to "claim" their coins? I assumed that the software must also allow one to make transactions with it?


You are right, I could use an address for a fork for a BTC address I control. But the reason I have not is because 1. I was not certain that the address space is the same for all forks, but I suppose they must be (since changes, eg, to the bitcoin cash addresses is only related to how they are represented?). 2. I would not be able to do anything with those coins. So would be preferable to have them in a place where I could spend them.

The point of the tool is to make your transactions by yourself and send them to the network, without giving your private keys to some (dubious) wallets sw and/or without having to sync a full node, to "claim" (or I prefer to "move") your coins

As I have explained in the repo there is no really need to "claim" coins, you have them already, unless you have some good reasons to move them (like sending them to an exchange to sell them)

People should really take care of wallets provided/advised by the current numerous forks, we can suspect that most of them are just here to steal your coins

So, unlike what I explain in the repo again, because normally there are no technical reasons to do so, move your bitcoin first before proceeding with the forked coins

And yes, all the addresses are the same, even new BCH addresses, the addresses are always the hash of your public key encoded in a certain way, that's  why they look different but they are the very same, and for example if you take a BTC address (starting with a 1) and the related BTG address (starting with a G) then the representation of this address in a BTC or BTG transaction will be the very same (ie the hash of the public key)

That's why you don't even really need to convert addresses while using the tool (even if advised so everything is coherent), you can use a BTC address to create a BTG transaction for example

In your case, as fa as I understand, you want to send your BCD from an exchange to another one, then you need to get a BCD address from the target exchange of course

I wonder if you can help. I'm using the bither on a android emulator for a mac. I've got my btc private keys from my ledger, put them into bither in 'import private keys' but am not getting any balace after clicking 'get forked coins'. is it possible that bither doesn't always work or is there a step I've missed?

The Wallet lets you claim the less valuable forks but as soon as you introduce your private key the BITCOIN DIAMOND balance is gone.

I've spend ages trying to get my forked btc coins from my ledger. I tried using bither and bitpie but apparently bither doesn't work if you had a segwit btc address.

Has anyone successfully claimed from a segwit address? If so what method did you use and how did you get the correct keys from the mnemonic code converter. I tried bip44 and bip49. Thanks.

Lol the same over here. i used bither and bitpie. I used this tool ( https://www.ledgerwallet.com/support/bip39-standalone.html )to convert my 24 words in private keys of every single bitcoin adress is used. bip 44 or 49 everything works. Then encrypt with 8 numbers. Scan the keys one by one bither without any problem. But i never saw any balance when i wanted to claim them. But when i fill in my adres on this website ( http://www.findmycoins.ninja/ ) i see some balances on some of my btc adresses. So yea strange. Now googling and finding this thread here, so i thought let me post me experience. Now i gonna search more.... if i found a solution i will post or if there is anybody with already a good solution let me know. To be clear i want to send those coins to exchanges.

Thanks for putting the findmycoins tool. It confirms what happened with bither and says I can only claim bch. But I claimed my bch last year. I moved my btc from legacy to segwit (really wish i hadn't bothered) in setp to I guess I need to find the correct segwit addresses.

Did more research tonight, but honestly i still didnt find any solution. its really frustrating. Also i did not found any solution to claim super bitcoin. So yea today i will spend bit more time , but that will be it, i hope some day somebody post a solution hear...

I was always a supporter of bitcoin diamond because I belive that this fork of bitcoin has it's place into the crypto space. Also I know cedex is making the first exchange build on diamond blockchain so this is another great think for the future of btcd.

The claiming process can be done anytime in the future right? Because right now I think its not really worth it, considering the low price of bitcoin diamond. But maybe in the future its value will increase. Just want to make sure I can safely postpone the claiming process.

Giving this a bump because due to BCD rise I am assuming many people here who still hold any bitcoin forked coins want to sweep them and send to an exchange such as Binanace.

Here is the issue I am having. After importing to Bither and clicking "Get BCD", my address shows up but the "Getable BCD is 0".

Its fully sycn'd with the bitcoin network but there is no way to check if its fully synced with the BCD network. Anyone know how to make this process work? Or is there any other online wallet or some app because its a pain downloading the entire block chain.

Oh you mean claiming bitcoin forks? Few wallets are built to claim forks automatically, sending your bitcoin on PC is risk I don't want to take, put your bitcoin on coinomi or trust wallet any snapshot that occurs will reward you

Coinomi unfortuntely doesn't support Bitcoin Diamond, it supports Bitcoin Gold however.

BCD was a pain to claim to tell you the truth. Basically the BCD Pay app wallet doesn't have a feature to claim forked coins, and the apps called Bither and Bitpie which say they have functionality to claim BCD and other forked BTC coins, it doesn't seem to work. No matter what I tried I would keep getting "0 BCD Getable" and same with the other coins. I am assuming it doesn't sync properly to the BCD nodes.

Only thing that worked was that Bitcoin Claimer Python script that you get from Github, was a pain to set up also since you need to install Python. And it was also difficult because you need to find every trans id which you held coins. So for some that can be 20-30 trans id and you need to manually find them and see which are unspent.

Some moths ago, i did a test (when btcd was low price) and i think i remember i take the btcd with bither with no problem, all worked ok, so i decide stop,and as i saw worked, do when want sell btcd.
I have some bitcoin paper wallets (with no btcs now, and some with btcs), now that i decided sell btcd cant , i check public key of the paper wallet on btcd blockexplorer and have, i scan private key on bither and when i go to Get Fprk Coins and get BTCD say Getable :0, SBTC same 0

You should check if you have bitcoin on addresses when the fork happen, i can't find now the link but was a tutorial to check if a bitcoin address have another coins on it.

i check with the public address on bitcoin diamond explorer and i can see that have diamond.
But when i sweep the private key in bither and go to have forks, show as not have, getable say 0

I remember lots of tutorials are available for claiming most of the bitcoin forked coins but my question is what we are going to do them?

Because, I checked for few coins and its listed exchange but exchanges were showing like not opening for deposit or withdraw for such forked coins. This was the status of last I checked not sure about bitcoin diamond or superbitcoin. But, the coins which are having deposit or withdraw opened are having very low in BTC prices; it is like no worth for claiming and moving them to exchanges.

After checked few coins its availability on exchange for deposit and withdraw, I stopped completely and started slowly forgetting about forked coins.

Im interesting in take at least the diamond, cause up so much these days, want sell and will buy when go down again :)
