Title: ASIC Miners Hosting Options in London/UK
Post by: CYPER on August 08, 2013, 10:54:11 PM
Let's discuss the hosting options here in the UK.

I'm interested in the option of renting a small office. What are the monthly rates in zones 3/4 and are all the bills usually included?
Or maybe self storage, but I doubt they have electricity or internet connection in the rooms.
Data centres?
Any other alternatives?

I would be interested in hosting my stuff in a UK data centre hopefully there's some out there.

I've actually found something that looks quite cool on paper. Need to ask some questions. Anything, aside security I should be aware of before I call them?

All bills included?
24 hours access?
Type of data connection and any time restrictions on usage?
Air conditioned?
Minimum term?
Insurance for damage if anything happens?

Hello, I am currently managing a hosting location for Bitcoin mining rigs in the US.  Most importantly is going to be power and your cooling.  A standard office building will not likely be able to handle the power load or amount of cooling you are going to need.  We are hosting Avalons currently and we have had to spend quite a bit of money on unit upgrades in order to provide the necessary amperage and several tons of cooling.

You also need to look at the cost of electricity.  These ASICs eat up quite a bit.

Any follow up on this?

With the poor state of alts and the incoming winter utility price hikes, my GPU rigs are going to go into negative running costs unless I find a way to cut my electricity bill down..  :( (other than switching them off!).

I decided to host my Jupiters at home as the power consumption turned out to be less than originally advertised + the miners are almost silent + free heating.

For home users check if your energy provider is the cheapest. I switched from British Gas to M&S Energy. Electricity cost with BGas was 13.6p for kWh, but only 11.02p with M&S.
