Title: Bitcoin miner rig motherboard Post by: mjsa on July 08, 2011, 11:42:36 AM I need a motherboard that has many PCI-E slots for graphics cards, is relatively cheap and available in the UK. I intend to use different graphics cards at first.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance. Title: Re: Bitcoin miner rig motherboard Post by: Maxim Gladkov on July 08, 2011, 01:08:24 PM You could check this site periodically: http://www.wesellrigs.com
I think in a week's time, there could be something suitable for you. Title: Re: Bitcoin miner rig motherboard Post by: mjsa on July 08, 2011, 07:14:48 PM Thanks for all your help. :)
Will probably get this: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/206344 - Asus CROSSHAIR IV FORMULA 890FX Socket AM3 8 Channel Audio ATX Motherboard. Will not get it atm; just gonna use a graphics/video editing workstation with a lovely 5830 in atm. Title: Re: Bitcoin miner rig motherboard Post by: koopa on July 08, 2011, 07:28:22 PM Hi,
If you wanted to save some cash you could just get the Gigabyte GA-870A-UD3 for £65.99 - it's the mobo I'm using for mining. It has two full length PCI-E slots and two small 1x slots. You can actually use all four PCI-E slots for mining, even the 1x ones, you just need to use a PCI-E riser extender cable, 1x > 16x. Although if you are planing to put four cards with risers inside of a case it may be a bit of a squeeze. Cheers.
