Title: Unconfirmed transaction not displayed in electrum history
Post by: mzallocco on January 07, 2018, 08:32:28 PM
I'm using electrum 3.0.4 on windows.

I have send to my electrum wallet, a transaction with too low fee, and its been over 1 month and still unconfirmed.
That transaction was showing up in electrum history as unconfirmed, but not anymore.
I wanted to use "Child pay for parents" but without the transaction in history for selection, I don't know how to proceed.

Is there anything I should do to get that showing up?

It has been dropped by the mempool due to time delay or mempool size limit. It may also be that your network has auto changed in Electrum that has a lower min fee acceptance for miners.

If your wallet is synced, you can enter a new transaction. You can also re-broadcast the transaction if you have a saved unsigned tx file, resign it on an offline device. This is normal.

ok so after leaving my wallet up for 5 hours, that unconfirmed transaction has reappeared.

The transaction is 35035 bytes long and looking at https://bitcoinfees.earn.com/
I chose 0.0007 mbtc/byte = 25mbtc, which ends up being about 8% of the btc being transferred.

Hopefully that will work.

If I've got my units right (and it's highly likely I haven't because I HATE mBTC and it confuses me!)... you've used a fee of 0.0007 mBTC/Byte = 0.00000070 BTC/Byte = 70 sats/byte.

Your fee of 25 mBTC = 0.025 BTC

Given that current recommended fees are like 500+ sats/byte... or 0.005 mBTC... with a transaction of 35,035 bytes (!!?! :o :o :o)... you'd need a fee of 17,517,500 sats... or 0.17517500 BTC.

You transaction is not likely to confirm anytime soon.
