Title: Quad Core: 8 threads for 1 miner or 4 threads each for 2 miners?
Post by: st4rdust on July 08, 2011, 03:33:19 PM
Is there any difference in splitting up the load between 2 miners versus everything being done by 1? My hash rate seems to be the same either way but I'm curious if there are any other advantages to splitting up the threads.

I think, there will be no difference...

Ya, you'll prob get 2-5M per core either way.

I figured as much. The possible advantages I refer to, however, would be along the lines of mining for multiple pools, having multiple miners therefore not being left completely out of commission in the event one goes down, etc.
