Did you check your prices on coinmarketcap? Coinmarketcap decided to exclude Korean exchanges from their price/market cap calculations (as these are trading significantly higher prices than other markets) - this is one reason why all prices are down. I think they should (have) informed users about this!

I suggest to be careful and check the numbers on exchange platforms again before making any moves! Don't panic sell because of this!

Many are down but not all.  I am still at same level as yesterday this time but compared to my ATH (7 hours ago) I am down almost 20%.  So it depends on where (point in time) you are measuring it against.

I think this is a normal correction for the unbelievable rally the past few days.  Just sit tight, it will bounce back and go even higher when it does. :)

More and more exchanges are also getting excluded from the price calculation because some are really outrageously higher (marked with * on the Markets tab of coinmarketcap).

If you are selling coins, worth checking the price on other exchanges, may be worth transferring & selling there. ;)

Why? Volatility.

This is just another day in cryptoland--if this sort of thing shakes your confidence, you should probably get out or stop looking (IE get a hobby to take your mind off of it).

Bitcoin down so altcoins value goes down as many are linked to BTC and it freaks people out. If you know anything about cryptocurrencies then you should hold tight, don't panic and wait for the bounce back.

Not true and maybe your coins only are dropping but not mine. Don't worry, it'll soon pump again as most coins are dropping and pumping. Just relax and take a coffee.
We just hope they'll be increasing starting tomorrow.

China is trying to get miners to stop using so much electricity, by maybe limiting how much electricity they will have available.
This could get a lot of miners in China to dump their BTC.

Also, S. Korea has ordered bank inspection on all banks that deal with cryptocurrency. So people are maybe freaking out because of that as well and cashing out while it's still time.

Those are the two latest news I've heard about, don't know if there's more.

Well, don't worry, if the current value is still greater than the actual price upon investment then you will have profits otherwise we have no other option but to hold. That the least can do right now.
Hold and wait, wait and hold.

Also whales are paying out profits from bull market. It makes price drop, people panic and sell also what makes price drop. Tomorrow or max by two days it will change again to bull market so it's best time imo to buy cheap coins

Yeah it's time to buy but fucking hell, with what? If I predicted this drop I could've unloaded my shit for USDT and then bought again, but noooo, these drops are so hard to predict for us who can't read the charts (and I doubt even those who can read the charts can predict these FUD moments).

Its best time to buy in ,,period,, (red)
Do not sell,  for newbies -  it happens always! Its not first&  not last time

just hold :) a 10% swing up or down in your portfolio shouldn't really cause any sort of reaction in the crypto world.

Just a normal day in crypto world if you ask me...

Yeah, worst time to sell, best time to buy. It's just that there are always comments in this periods that say that the market has crashed forever and stuff. Someday the crypto bubble could burst (hope not), but as Aragorn from The Lord of the Rings said "It is not this day!".

Here is the reason for the coin drops. In fact, the prices you see on coinmarketcap might not be true.

Double check with your exchanges.

Most coins are going down because the traders are giving you a chance for an entry point, so don't waste this chance to buy some tokens that you have been waiting to dip. Its not that difficult to figure which token you should be buying, there are just some of the that speed up so chose wisely.

Coinmarketcap's move to remove Korean exchanges from its price valuations was a good decision because the valuations tend to be higher in Korea.

This development sucks for the XRP, but it also creates new opportunities to buy the dip in cryptos in general.

Just noticed the Ripple twitter page:

Quote
"For those asking us about the recent price fluctuation, @coinmarketcap has excluded Korean exchanges from their pricing averages. This change applies to all of their listed digital assets, not just $XRP."

Time to get in on the dip!  Buy up the coins you have been watching and watch the coming days/weeks/months/years for the rise (hopefully).

Do a sort at coinmarketcap or your exchange on percentage gain/loss to go from high to low, then you'll see all coins are never going down.  Try to hedge on those coins.

Well i also lost 20% of my money today but i don’t see any reason to panic. It will get back to normal in few days. These kind of days are the best times to invest. You can buy good coins from very cheap prices.

That's why you need to keep some more trusted and stable coins too in your bag, which not suffer big from such dips, like stratis, just a tiny 3% dip, and it's back and continue to grow. And 20% dip is just nothing in altcoin world.

China is going to ban bitcoin mining cartels which consumes a lot of electricity, that's why the market is down.

Check google.

Good, I hope the USA and Europe (as well as Africa/S America) picks up the slack.

A 10% dip isn't anything to be worried about. My port dipped 10% yesterday morning, and was up 10% by EOD. Check the market rates for the exchanges you use (rather than the calculated average), and perhaps sign up to one with more favorable rates when you want to sell.

Today there was a big dump because coinmarketcap updated the Korean prices and took them out of their rating, that is probably why a lot of people dumped

Dont panic. This is only a minor correction, nothing out of the ordinary. You will get used to this sooner or later. Its quite normal for cryptomarkets to be highly volatile, so a 10% loss in a matter of hours or even less is nothing special. Just try to stay calm and control your emotions, the markets will recover.

The downward trend in price change is of course due to the exclusion of the korean exchange from the CMC.
For investors. This is the best time to buy lots of the coins and lock in your position getting ready for the next mooning.

The market is going down a lot, this is usually seen after a long green market time and this is the time for the speculators to profit to profit and then buy back at a small value. than. I think if you are holding on to the fallen coin, you should not be too worried because this is a very normal thing in this market, you should be prepared for what will happen in the future.
