Title: How to know what to mine
Post by: bewwys on January 09, 2018, 01:40:05 PM
Hi everyone,
I'm new in mining and I plan to buy 1000 rx580 saphire nitro+ to create A small mining farm. But really I don't know what to mine and when to mine. I was wandering why people unplug their farm and how they know when to unplug because it's not profitable.

Thank you a lot

I would say step 1 is learning to read where you should be posting these questions. This is a bitcoin forum that has nothing to do with GPU rigs.

I thought that I was on the right place.

I don't think 1000 RX580s is a small mining farm...

I don't know where you plan to get that many RX580s, they are hard to come by typically unless you want to pay nearly double a "good" price.  BIOS modding will be a major pain unless you get all the same kind of card with the same memory.

You're probably better off just buying coins with that money and holding them.  I wish that's what I had done.

When the conditions aren't good (low conversion rate USD-altcoin) you just keep mining to build a reserve. When (read: if) the conditions improve, all the time mining wasn't wasted.

what a noob, do some danm research and maybe youll find your answer and as far as unplugging the farm goes, I doubt anyone fully does that, they might change out gpus and minimal hardware at best but not unplug it that would be just dumb

I can have RX580 for 260euros so all the cards will have the same memory. I have 250k to invest. My goals is to invest in hash power.

And yeah for me 1000 is pretty small haha

Thank you :)
