Title: Best multi currency wallet
Post by: mickymax777 on January 10, 2018, 11:29:40 AM
I'm currently investigating what is the best multi currency (obviously secure) wallet. I started using CoinPayments and so far so good but there is a limited amount of coins they support. I'll appreciate if you can share your experience.

Kcash, this is the wallet I've been using, and this wallet can support the BTC and ETH and ACT series tokens, so I think it's a good wallet, at least the experience is ok.

I think the best is to have a hardware wallet where you can keep multiple coins. Also the advantage is that the private keys remain actually private! Ledger Nano-S and Trezor are couple of good hardware wallets to look at.

I've had a look at these, but I'm just concerned that some hardware failure occur or you loose it, or it gets stolen. I'm very paranoid.

It's gotta be MyEtherWallet if you prefer multi-currency heavily. If you prefer a few currencies (with new ones added monthly) I'd recommend Exodus, it has an amazing UI.

for long term holding only hardware wallets are an option. for short term trading its not very much important which wallet you use if u browse safe. but desktop wallets are better than hot wallets.

A better wallet that has a feature of multiple cryptocurrency is a hardware wallet like Ledger Nano or Trezor. This wallets are highly secured because it is not exposed in internet connection and you cannot use it if the physical device is not connected in your computer.

Exodus, coinomi, jaxx and why because you are able to get your privatekey at least you can try to pick .dat file that contains your privatekey mate. There are so many crypto sites are suggesting it.
to increase the security in your amount if you are able to get your private key in your hand. Just consider it.

Hard to believe this until your mnemonic passphrase is compromised. I personally use Ledger wallet and I haven't face any issue. I had some issues with software once but support helped me with the issue.

Just read the FAQs in ledger wallet's zendesk which will guide you with "do" and "don'ts".

Rest I haven't used trezor but I also haven't seen any serious issue regarding hardware failure them as well.

The best multicurrency wallet is a hardware wallet in my opinion. I use the ledger nano S, and am 100% satisfied with it. Its a good idea not to cheap out when it comes to security questions. Imagine loosing all your funds because you were to greedy to pay $100 for security. This would be way more annoying than having $100 less in the portfolio.
I also have an eye on the pillar project. I hope that they will be able to built a next gen multi currency wallet.

Hard to beat the security of a hardware wallet like that Nano.  Definitely make sure to keep everything confidential regardless of what platform you choose.

My personal opinion, you can use exodus.io That apps, can manage and exchange your blockchain assets. Their User Interface also very handy and cool. It's very easy to user for newbie.

I use Exodus,  jaxx. i have no problems with them. For erc20 i use MEW. Its very user friendly and safe.
I'm also planning to buy Ledger Nano. I think the best way to store coins is downloading all information on USB disk or buy second computer.

Ledger Nano S 100%. If you are thinking to hold cryptocurrencies for long term you need the safest hardware wallet you can get. The private key of desktop wallets can be lost or stolen easly by a tiny almost invisible application called keylogger troyan that creep onto computer easily and record everything from keystore to clicking model. There is no need of such an unpleasant surprise. Stay safe and get your nano s,mate.  ;)

In my opinion, Exodus and Jaxx are the best multi-currency wallet. I have been using both for a long time and I haven't encountered any problem. I would prefer Exodus than Jaxx. For ERC20 tokens MyEtherWallet is the best.

If your private key safe in desktop or with any hardware you will get anyone hacked your fund. There are some people logging into the wallet with the Google search there you have to trick to reach your fake wallet site similar to the MEW wallet.
This has been many time done with the blockchain wallet users like saying that user account blocked, hacked the fund and etc. So you need to be careful while you logging in to the wallet provider site.

Exodus + MEW - these wallets I use.
I do not trust to Jaxx. Recently, due to frequent attacks on the sites (MEW and ED, for example). I think to use a Metamask instead of MEW.
Bitcoin I advise you to keep it separately for Electrum (3.0.5)
The ideal option to keep coins on the Nano Ledger.
But it's worth the money.

Ledger Nano S if youre holding a huge amount of cryptos for long term. Cold storage is the safest place to put your assets in and it isnt susceptible to online hackers, but yeah just like you Im also paranoid, thinking a lot of things like "what if my hardware wallet got destroyed by fire, flood and whatever disaster may come lol." Right now im using MEW , but I planned to use Ledger soon :)

def. ledger nano s for me. lots of currencies , secure and easy to use. the only problem is you can only hold 5-6 coin app's at once so with 20 ish coins i'm having to remove and install different apps to move the coins. It's easy to do this and tbh i'm a holder so don't often have to uninstall reinstall different apps.

exodus is really good but it does seem like the transaction fees were unusually higher compared to other wallets.  Exodus has a wide array of coins.  for the phone, I really like coinomi.  I'm not sure if coinomi does a desktop wallet but the phone wallet is great.  So many coins.

I would stay away from Jaxx.  I had a really bad experience with them.  Coins were missing.  They had known security issues.  There customer support was not supportive at all.

Right now I am using Zebpay cryptocurrency wallet which is pretty good for Indian citizens. It has the option to withdraw the holdings to your bank by converting the crypto to INR and then withdrawing it to your linked bank account. It is obvious that it is not anonymous but for people who don't bother much about anonymity, it is a good wallet. It supports many top coins and offers almost the same price as the international market. I have been using zebpay since a year now and the experience was good till date.

P.S : We can't use it without linking our identity to the account.

I think the best multi currency wallet is any hardware wallet, such as the Ledger Nano and Trezor Wallet. In my opinion, it is completely safe, I have never heard that coins can be stolen from hardware wallet. You should also not worry about losing your hardware wallet until your seed is safe with you, which is to be created when starting the hardware wallet.

You should look at jaxx, they store so many coins that I have lost count of how many they can store. If you want your multi coin wallet then jaxx should be your go to. With that it is pretty safe for you to leave your coins in them. As long as the coin is supported and as long as you properly secure the wallet then you have absolutely nothing to worry about.

Coinpayments isn't a multi currency wallet, it is an exchange and I don't advise people to use an exchange to stock their coins.

Jaxx is an electronic wallet for storing virtual currencies such as Bitcoin (BTC), Monero (MNR), Ethereum (ETH), Litecoin (LTC), Zcash (ZEC), Dashcoin (DASH), Ethereum Classic ETC), Dogecoin (DOGE), and much more Altcoin. Furthermore, I find it very safe to use it without worrying about it.

You can use myetherwallet or coinomi because both wallets can support almost new and old coins , whether it is altcoin or erc20 based coins .

Coinomi is downloadable and have is own client , while myetherwallet can be access on the go online .

There are also hardware wallets that you can use as an alternative to the wallets that i mentioned above but im not really sure if what is the name of the hardware wallet that supports multi currency .

Coinomi is one of the best multi-currency wallets out there, it is very secured and user-friendly, erc-20 customization available. Another good option is Kcash, supports a lot of currencies that you'll use, also has the option to request a new coin add option. Additionally, Kcash lets you earn free airdrops just for holding tokens there, no issue with it's security.

You can use myetherwallet
MEW is only for Ethereum and ERC20 tokens so I wouldn't consider that as a multi currency wallet even though there's a lot of ERC20 tokens. Coinomi is the most popular here and is being used by many crypto folks. But have you ever considered having your own very safe and high security hardware wallets? that's the best multi currency wallet e.g nano ledger s and trezor.
