Title: OMG my btc got stolen
Post by: ahfs6298 on August 12, 2013, 05:11:38 AM
woke up to find my shit all stolen just yesterday, thank god it was only just twenty or so dollars worth, but still, pretty gutted and all, anyways just warning you guys, if you ever see this particular address anywhere you'll know this guy is a thief. I woke up late about yesterday with my AV running overnight because I'd found I may have had a Trojan of some sort or something, only to find that my btc balance dropped to zero.

Also another question, is there anyway to reverse the transaction or something since theres no confirmations?

That sucks to hear. Try encrypting your wallet and make sure you don't still have any more trojans/whatever on your computer. :p

i dunno, I mean , I'm pretty sure i had it all encrypted and all, its just I had the client on the whole time, it must;ve been on while the virus was still secretly running and all, I really didn't notice much until it was too late. I mean I'm pretty sure I remember I cut off my internet connection when scanning but I didn't double check my wallet until the morning....

be aware that AV solutions are mostly placebo, you can never be secure @ winblows... thats a myth

Does this have anything to do with bruteforcing private keys?

That is currently not possible.

Windows or anything else.
your best bet is storing your private information on a separate usb key and using a live os to do any transactions.
