Title: I just mined my first Bitcoin! Post by: DennisD7 on August 12, 2013, 07:21:37 AM I started "hobby mining" in April this year, and then started to build a proper rig. Now I have a 4 GH/s ASIC rig, and today I received a payment that completed a full Bitcoin for the first time.

Thank you all :) Yes it's slow, but that is part of the reward somehow. I have big plans for my rig, as soon as BFL ships (in two weeks, I've been told :P ) I use BTC Guild at the moment. Probably would've made it in 21 or 22 days, if i'd discovered Process Watchdog sooner, which restarts BFGminer when it goes belly up.

I'm getting 4 GH/s, which means about 0.04 BTC per day at the current difficulty. This week I'm expecting to get another 18 erupters, which will kick me up to 10 GH/s so that will mean 0.1 BTC per day on average (until difficulty changes again). I discussed it with a housemate today, and apparently we prepay electricity - some strange UK thing - so it's hard to monitor precisely. Just had to say congratulations.
