Title: Marc Cuban & Mercury Protocol (GMT)?
Post by: justone123 on January 10, 2018, 07:19:42 PM
Marc Cuban(Investor, billionaire, figure on Shark Tank, owner of Dallas Mavericks) is backing Mercury Protocol(GMT) https://www.mercuryprotocol.com/about

Has anyone looked into Mercury Protocol? I bought it few weeks ago when it was like 5m$ marketcap, honestly i didn't even look into it much but it seemed heavily undervalued, probably due to the fact it was only on etherdelta. Made some nice profits, but would be good to know if project is good for long term(since Mark Cuban is backing it?).

Looks kinda interesting.
Doing some legit stuff. I've seen Mark talking about a currency he's backing up, but not sure if this is it.
Can't remember.

Although I would get some. Not bad at all.

It seems like this is it http://fortune.com/2017/08/24/mark-cuban-blockchain-mercury-protocol/

The only research i did was i checked if Mark Cuban backed it and it does seem like it. I already got like x8 or something, idk what now.

Mark Cuban was backing Unikoin Gold. It is an eSports coin and the news about it was all over the place.
Google shows he really endorses Mercury. It is weird how the news didn't go mainstream in the crypto world.

I checked it out. I wasn't that interested, but that's just me. What do you guys think about Darcrus? It's what the Mercury protocol is based on.

I think what affected the project is the hard cap, they only sold less than 20% of the tokens during their token sale and there was no tokens burnt, adviser is not the developing team

In the days we passed, I studied the mercury project. I have not found anything worth investing in. I made a review after this news.
I still do not think about investing :D

Well  i "invested" solely due to it being undervalued compared to others(at the time). I am not surer why marc is a fan of this tzhough

Yeah i know, but what is on it that is so attracting? Is an universal protocol needed for message encryption and this is what they are trying to solve?

Who cares about Cuban, he's probably getting a fat payday for adding his support, just like John McAfee, probably an assistant of his read the white paper while he was partying with his mates. I doubt Cuban does much crypto research himself.

I am always sceptical of projects that look for backers in athletes, movie starts etc. A project that has real value would be immediately recognised in the industry for its product and service and shouldn't be identified because it has been backed by a famous person. Just my two cents.

If the protocol is proved to be good, other messaging apps will add the same functionalities and let people use it for free. I think it is going to be difficult for the model to work.
