Why Discord became so popular? Why Telegram is not enough for chatting, channels etc? Why not Slack?

Nice graphics, easy to use.

slack has become hacked to often. Personally i prefer telegram myself

Discord is very simple to use, and multiple channels can be created according to the topic of discussion. Also, slack is filled with scammers, and many ICO's try to stay away from. For telegram, it can get filled with messages as multiple channels can't be created in like a single chat.

Ease of use is one of the reasons why people prefer to use something. Discord was made to be easy to the general public

Discord has more features than slack, and i think discord is also cheaper.

I think the quality of communication and ease of use attracts people.

I don't know, I used Discord before but I didn't find it interesting.

I still go with Telegram though, very easy to use and it's function is pretty straight forward. So I don't know which one is popular though, but based on my experience, our family are going to Telegram for our special 'talk'.

Same here. I did made an account in Discord but can't bother to keep open "yet another messaging platform". Besides for me IRC would be good enough, but Telegram is acceptable. Discord seems to be game oriented, but i found its client heavy on resource usage. I guess with Discord you don't need a cellphone number? But at least with Telegram that is only needed the first time you make an account.

I'm not really sure why its popular, but have seen plenty of popular things come and go in my lifetime. Slack? I detest it.

I think the reason is simple, in discord there is much more order than in telegram, there are sub channels that can be created and talk about it there, by telegram all the conversations of all the themes are combined in a single chat, which makes it difficult Reading, because you lose many times the meaning of what you are looking for, this Discord application has also gained a lot of fame due to the inclusion of many blockchain projects.

Yeah, probably geared toward gaming community. Slack? I haven't used it as well. Telegram was very easy for me to used. Maybe I'm just old school or want, but the design was very simple.

I only used Discord before because it is one of the requirements in my previous campaign. But other than that never touch it again.

Telegram is popular as messaging app today, I haven't used discord and slack but it's the preference of others.

Discord is not easy to use, easy to use was TeamSpeak, it was simple, clean, and bloatware free.

The difference is TeamSpeak servers were paid or self hosted; and people prefered a centralized service with a nice skin.

One word. MEMES

Discord received a very large functionality, the strongest bots and simple registration.
A lot of work has been done on it lately.

Perhaps the discord has become popular because it does not need phone numbers for registration. Although, it is also very convenient for speakers. Maybe i am right  :)

Discord is a gaming platform. A telegram is a messaging app

Because Discord is popular among the gaming community. Has features that is designed for gamers etc. The aesthetics is so gamer. And the Gaming Community itself is huge.

I prefer discord if you compare it with the telegram. In discord, you can have many different chat rooms, it's graphics much easier to see what other people write than in telegram, where you just have one endless group chat, where important messages will be missed, as the group chat moves on.
I'm active in many different discord groups, but only in a handful of telegrams groups.
