Title: Altcoin speculators forum topics as a measure of sentiment
Post by: bbc.reporter on January 11, 2018, 02:02:11 AM
In a bull market, everyone can see that many of the topics started are asking about the next 10x, or the next 100x. See that some of them are looking for advice on what to buy, while others are recommending the coins that they are holding. This is good. Everyone is trading.

But a small warning. When the topics start to become more trolly and also when people start bashing different coins, then that is a sign that many people are bagholding.

Do not forget that.

Absolutely I agree. Everyone wants more Bitcoin until the bear market starts. Bitcoin will always win. I think I should stay away from the speculations.

This is true, only few topics started as genuie topics, but most of these thread they are just trying to gain attention for the tokens they are bagholding, and this is very important to be able to identified noise from information

Great observation.

I like the 'I wish I never bought altcoins'- type threads. That's a sure sign a solid bull run in alts are imminent.

Reversed, when someone announce they just bought a new lambo with their 573433277% profit from AnusCoin, I'm out!

You are very right but most analysts are calling this year very bullish for crypto markets as a lot of new money will be coming into it. Lets see.

I noticed that the present sentiment in altcoin speculation is still not that bearish. Some posts are still looking for some hope. This might mean that, yes there is still hope or most of the people are in denial.

I reckon that we might now be in the denial stage.

I often see and read new topics like you say, but the average op is a newbie.
But certainly not all suggestions we must follow, we must also be smart to choose and do research.

@limmousine. Those newbies are usually farmed accounts, I reckon. Me and rizlarolla used to look for them and reported them to the moderators. But there are too many of them and they are hard to stop.

In any case, being a newbie does not change what the sentiment of the market is.
