Block Erupter USB Price : 0.40 BTC

The order handling fee is 0.07 BTC

The current shipping price is: 0.16 BTC (may change, so check before paying)

For example:

for 1 units; (1*0.40) + 0.07 + 0.16 = 0.63 BTC
for 2 units; (2*0.40) + 0.07 + 0.16 = 1.03 BTC
for 3 units; (3*0.40) + 0.07 + 0.16 = 1.43 BTC
for 4 units; (4*0.40) + 0.07 + 0.16 = 1.83 BTC

Yes, that's the idea - get them shipped with the USBs to save everyone on extra shipping fees etc.

There is a fair few available, let me know what sort of a quantity you're interested in and I'll look into it for you :)

In case anyone is wondering, yxt is still waiting for the rest of the stock, as soon as it becomes available the order will be placed. I think its either in transit or in customs, so it shouldn't be much longer ;D

Anyone getting these to sell on eBay, be aware eBay UK are now pulling auctions and banning accounts.  Seem they have something against Bitcoins and Bitcoin mining hardware.  Tread carefully.  :(

Most likely due to people selling the stuff in hand when they haven't got it, they have clear rules for pre-orders and as long as you follow them, they don't mind.

Then again it could be something else that they are buttmad with, but you never know :).

Same here.  Though my TekNet 10-port is a bit dodgy, so I've ordered an Anker.  The TekNet looked like it was soldered by a 4 year old chinese kid in a sweatshop, using a lump of metal heated in a fire, during an earthquake.  Horrible soldering, I'm amazed it worked at all.

And everything has been shipped ;D will pm or email tracking numbers a bit later today.

It's running pretty hot. Do I *need* a fan?  

They do run hot, that's normal.

I personally have fans yes, but I don't think its an official requirement.

I just have them placed in front of my room fan, no need to waste a perfectly good USB port on a fan :P

They do conk out after a while without a fan.  I have an old 120mm case fan running off a PSU off a dead Netgear router blowing across mine.  Te fan and the hubs are mounted to the 120mm square "Moduvent" thing out of a Fractal Design case (120mm square plastic thing with a bit of foam stuck to it).  Stops the vibrations from the fan resonating on the desk.

I have a few BE running off the USB ports on the back of my monitor, too - I just stuck a couple of RAM chip heat sinks on them.


I'll have to pick up my shipment from the sorting office later, package was too big for the letter box. :(

Also received and hashing merrily.  One has higher than normal error rate, but I'm waiting for a better hub to arrive and see if that's the problem.  The hub I have has horrible build quality.

I know you're all desperate for an update.

Unfortunetly the update about the new blades really isn't that exciting until I have a price. According to YXT there is very little difference between the New and Old blades. The only real difference is that they're a bit smaller. They still use the same chip, hit the same speed, use the same amount of power. There is no USB support, which I know some of you wanted, its still processes via Ethernet. There are backplanes available on 6 or more units which should make powering them a whole lot easier, and that's about that.

Will update with a price later today hopefully, in the mean time if anyone is interested in getting any, comment away :)

Possibly interested in a Blade - might cancel my Jalapeno order and get the blade instead.  Price dependent of course (or it might still be cheaper to buy a load of Erupters instead?  I dunno.  Prices!  We need prices! :)

Yxt has given me some pricing information for blades.

If we can sell 10 blades or more I can get them for 11.99 btc a unit + shipping. (normally 12.50 btc a unit)

It might seem a bit more than others international sellers at first glance, but once you add their shipping fee and then add import duty and any potential losses whilst the units held in customs, it actually works out slightly better.

If anyone is interested in 6 units or more I can organise backplanes also to make power management easier.

So, is anyone interested?

Based on my previous experience we're usually talking about 5-7 days to organise the group buy, then another day or two on top of that before they will be shipped (assuming they're in stock - which they currently are).

To get the discount we have a target of 10, I've received a little bit of interest via PM for 2 units, someone commented earlier in this thread for 1 also.

If anyone else shows an interest, I'll start a new thread for it to make everything clearer and start accepting payments.

Blades for BTC5 - I think something's amiss if the best that can be done for EU customers is BTC12.  Customs can't be THAT much.

That's correct. But it means going for 100 blades. Instead of the 20
I reckon you should setup two groups. One for 20 blades and the other one for 100 blades

As the 20 blade group will be filled quicker than 100 blades group.

I think there might have been a slight communication issue between myself and yxt. After clarifying some details with him (well actually after trying to get us a better price) he has since said that the price of 5.99 btc, is for the units he has in stock - i.e. these are available for immediate delivery.

Personally I'll be relieved if it has a proper power socket, rather than having to strip wires and use a terminal block.

I only buy off of Outcast3k (Excellent service) and YXT (Direct) as I'm concerned that kit coming from the US will cause a customs kerfuffel
UK and Euro post are fine as any duty has been paid. (as long as the parcels clear the SNIFF / x-ray machines)

It seems the Price changes filter to YXT later than the other suppliers and YXT is not the quickest at sorting out Outcast3k -  this surprises me because if Outcasts3k's service as buyer is similar to his service as a seller then he must be the best customer YXT has!
And we all look after our best customers......

So I'm guessing we're all holding off now, awaiting an announcement.
And then Outcast3k is going to be busy again....
