Title: Couple questions about Currency Exchange
Post by: daltonva on August 13, 2013, 02:30:15 AM
Where do I find services like Escrow for currency exchange/buying coins? Also, is there any small amount I should start off with to be on the safe side? Many thanks everyone!

You can use localbitcoins.com, I have a few times and it always worked well, with no need for escrow!

^ this. The exchange rate people will take is usually very competitive. Just be safe; meet in public, daytime, etc.

The most trusted person in this forum when it comes to holding escrow is John K.  Here's his escrow thread:

I'd also be willing to hold escrow for you if I'm online when you need it (see my signature for information). However you should always be very wary of anybody contacting you directly to offer escrow. You need to do your own research and determine if a potential escrow holder is trustworthy. See what other experienced members have to say about the person.  Read through their recent posting history. See if they've acted in a trustworthy manner on a regular basis.

I prefer bitcoin.de as an exchange, if you're from the EU.
