These 5x-10x-100x threads are getting old so I thought I would go with an approach where we can do our own research and make our own choices.
I try to focus on coins that offer one of the two options:

1. A new coin with a great road map, white papers and a strong team, the coin should offer solutions to current problems we face in the crypto world, I would consider a new coin to be one which hit markets in the last 6 months or an upcoming/current ico.

2. An established coin which is hitting innovation or solving current issues on it's road map in the next few months

I'm not too worried about price predictions, 2x-10x I don't care, the whole idea of this thread is to bring together information so we can all make our own judgement and decisions.

Please be informative towards why you feel a coin fits one of the 2 listed criteria's.

I think Raiblocks meets the requirements of 2nd Criteria.
It is solving the scalability problem of current Blockchain.
And the most important features of raiblocks is it is super fast and Zero fees transaction.
It could be biggest gainer in 2018.

Right now, I'm all into DubaiCoin (DBIX). Seems like it's positioning itself to be the ETH of the Arab world. It's upcoming Islamic Banking feature could be a hit with that region. Also, Dubai just finished it's first World Blockchain Summit and has plans to make its city a blockchain city.

Bismuth coin meets your criteria. I suggest you make a deep research and analysis about it. I'm sure the project will not disappoint you. Personally, I believe with the constant development, Bismuth will be successful in the future.

Check out the whitepaper of quantum1net its a unique project and probably will be the first coin using quantum hashing. The project also include building a miner for the coin. I read their whitepaper and yellow paper and eventually interesting with their project. There will be 3 phase ico silver , gold and last ico.

Humaniq meets these criteria I know this project is very difficult to execute but there is really a great progress. Also OAX coin, the team behind it unarguable is very good, it solves real problems of current decentralized exchanges.

Yes, but with all the regulations coming, I am also concerned a lot about privacy. Basically there are only one or two coins with superfast transactions and almost zero fees Plus 100% privacy.
Actually it's only one coin which offers the whole package.
And as long as you don't go to jail for using privacy, I will use the privacy option with every  transfer.
Nobody should be able to get on the blockchain and check out how much money I move around.
It's not only about taxes, but getting kidnapped is a real danger also. The owner of an exchange was kidnapped recently exactly because of that.

I would vote for DENT coin. DENT seeks to disrupt the global telecommunications industry.

The company behind Dentcoin is called DENT Wireless Limited. The goal of the company is to liberate mobile data “by enabling anyone to buy, sell and donate data through the Ethereum blockchain.”

They have launched an iOS app and are due to release an android app in February, which is when I believe the price is going to rocket.  

Interesting approach for a speculation thread, much appreciated as you are right, the x10 etc threads are getting old. I like the criteria that have to be met for the coins. I bookmarked the thread to keep up with whats going on in here.

Enjin coin is a pretty nice coin in regards to this. It's not just because it's promising in terms of price, but their mapping and planning is extremely well organized. They've been on schedule, and their ann thread here was pretty good when I remember it. There was some controversy about one of the team members, but it was cleared up in a matter of days. Having devs that are extremely dedicated to the success of coins is pretty important, so enjincoin is a nice snag as of now. Furthermore, they've got a huge community behind them in terms of game factions/guilds, so it'll be pretty interesting to see how they get implemented.

Enigma is a very interesting project, secrecy on the blockchain, the whitepaper is awesome too.

I respect your opinion because DENT is a good altcoin with long development path and management team has set for DENT. I learned about DENT and invested in it for a while I felt able to go along with this coin. Consider a good time to buy DENT because you will not regret your decision.

Yeah regulations are coming into act.
But it doesn't matter people will always choose and use the better technology.
All the fuds that are going around will be over very soon.

Blocknet is due to release a decentralised exchange UI in Q1, one of the few projects where every part of the trading is decentralised. Doesn't seem to be a popular coin hype-wise, which may make it a good investment.

It's similar to Komodo, but at a lower market cap.

In particular with all the exchanges having troubles recently, it may be an attractive option for traders.

However, I am a newbie so you should not choose a good coin for investment.

I've had my eye on Blocknet and also BitBay as I agree with you, decentralised exchanges just make sense for crypto and these 2 have a good looking year ahead.

I can't agree with you more about these two options.
No matter what the team has claimed about their altcoin, those altcoin lack of innovations to solve current problems would be useless.
Whereas, the vital problem of altcoin is that most of those altcoins lack of assurence by physical support. That will make it useless as long as people deny it. Moreover, as altcoins are used in less group, it will tend to be useless.

I think the best ones for me are the 3rd generation blockchain projects like Aion, cardano and Icon, i am myself trying to get more and more of them.

I think you are talking about Ethereum. Being #2 in coin market capitalization pretty much speaks for it being established. As for solving current issues, its well on its way to solving scalability problems and it already has a clear roadmap on how to go about the change. As of the moment, Ethereum can actually already do thousands of transactions per second. The upcoming hard fork should also even make it a no brainer. Invest in cheap ETH while you can.

Established, stable growth to date, smallish cap and not overvalued.
What it offers this year? desktop + web free marketplace along with a rolling peg around mid year, the rolling peg feature will make the coin less volatile to price swing which really helps a marketplace coin, they will be the first to implement a rolling peg if all works well, this is pretty much the year they bring their product together.

Bounties and air drops aren't really innovative, not sure if this coin fits the criteria, thanks though.

- On paper it scales better and is faster than the current top platform coins.
- They've been ahead of their roadmap the whole time, team appears to be very strong.
- Market cap is very low vs it's competitors.

The most of the privacy coins are undervalued right now.

The best opportunity is to find a privacy-related project with a low total supply (less than 100M), that way the price will be increasing much faster.

I recently found one project called Ethereum Meta, it is related to anonymity and untraceable transaction. They have a very interesting project to build the Anonymous E-Market Place.

I've seen that exact same post spammed over 10 times on here now, no good.

there are a lot of similar projects, but it is very difficult to predict which of them will really have great prospects. And nevertheless, despite everything that is happening on the market, I still trust the efirium anyway and I consider it at least the most promising and practical platform.

Oh yes, I've been reading about some small moves with Waves, after a long wait it's great to finally see such things. Price won't move anyhow, it still takes time. But with projects like Panthos partnering with Waves (talk about legitimate business, right?) and Waves Lab taking on a few people with good seed funding, it can only mean good things to those who wait.

I'll let you guys in on a little secret.

Under your criteria, you can immediately name a couple of projects. You see, they practically do not invent anything new and copy each other complementing with a small advantage and how can one not get confused among such a number. So all on intuition and good luck.

Both Marinecoin and Ethereum Meta do not fit the criteria and the people posting these are only on here to spam their coins.

As mentioned in the title, the most important element that will save the market from the impasse is that projects with innovative ideas will carry the crypto money market much further.

Initially I liked Cardano and I still do. However in terms of more x gains and future potential I think Zilliqa is a very interesting project and they have started acquiring more staff, one high ranked from Goldman sachs i believe among others. Their sharding technique opposed to whats Ethereum is trying to accomplish seems superior as it has been part of the fundementals and ethereums sharding solution has to be build to fit their current blockchain. Also I believe that zilliqa´s team has from the start been thinking out of the box where as Charles Hoskinson´s brain been evolved around how to improve ethereum fundementals instead of throwing all sketches away.
