Title: Diff increase today (again) Post by: Nemo1024 on August 13, 2013, 08:08:54 AM Looks like we will jump over 40 million completely and land on 50481268 in just 12 hours.
Average time between blocks has so far been 6.9 minutes, which is scary and points to continued difficulty acceleration for the near future. Title: Re: Diff increase today (again) Post by: baritus on August 13, 2013, 02:23:41 PM I wouldn't be surprised if we skip over the 60's once we land in the 50's.

http://thegenesisblock.com/bitcoin-block-time-halved-to-five-minutes-amid-exponential-network-growth/ Anyone's guess how long this will continue. I don't see this slowing down at all, but ACCELERATING. 1 PH/s will likely occur far before December 31st, 2013. Than by who? I thought the only other person delivering hashrate was BitFury, and I have a hard time seeing them delivering 100+ TH/s in a matter of a few weeks. No one else has ever rolled out that much hashrate that quickly. Title: Re: Diff increase today (again) Post by: Nemo1024 on August 30, 2013, 07:47:50 PM Just stumbled across some old cached data from 50BTC from this spring. And I thought difficulty was bad back then... ::)

I remember the avalon site saying that they had been extorted for hashing hardware in Asia maybe that could be it? Title: Re: Diff increase today (again) Post by: Nemo1024 on August 30, 2013, 09:50:11 PM Hmm, looks like we will jump over 70 million on the next retarget in 5 days. These leaps are starting to become common.

Probably quite a bit more. |
