Recently few days i am worried about cybar attack dec 25 i was lost my valuable token.Now i am confused and ask a question in my mind mew can be hack? please give me any suggestion i am afraid now.

What kind of wallet?
If you are afraid, transfer the money to another one.
Check the operating system of your computer with different anti-virus software.

use wallet like ledger nano s, transfer you altcoins there, dont give anyone your private key, make sure the website you are logging in is not a phishing website, be always aware and vigilant. wallet like ledger nano s is a cold storage to make your tokens and btc safe for hackers.

MEW cannot be hacked unless someone can access your private keys.You don't have to store the private keys in your computer it is better to store it in a pen drive or write in a piece of paper.And keep good antivirus on yiur computer to stay away from phishing links which can copy yiur private keys.

MEW can be hacked, it's like those hacks that takeover all of the ETH addresses that you'd be sending your coins too. So if you were to want to send coins to x address the virus would change that to Y address, you would confirm the tx on the site and you'd be compromised as your computer is compromised.

This is why you should ALWAYS be using a HW wallet when dealing with a good amount of wallets, live wallets could be hacked at any point and you couldn't change a thing.

Be careful in clicking links from your email and be aware of the right mew address. Their are lots of fake mew sites trying to phish your private keys from you. when you access your wallet while being online you are at a risk of being hacked and it doesn't matter what kind wallet you are using. and when you are using a web wallet then the risk of getting hacked are even more because you are going to a website that might have been hacked or be leaking your information!

Your ether wallet can only be hack if you click some fishing which has a similarity on mew, but if you are cautious for sure your not going to be hack.  Just the only thing I know which is really safe was MEW and shafeshift.io

Just make sure the URL of the site correct before you provide your login details to the site then you're safe otherwise you may leak out your login details to hackers. The suggestion is you bookmark the correct URL and after that, you use the same URL to access your account. Also, try to install good original antivirus software on your PC to protect from various attacks.

yes, MEW could have been hacked and everything on the internet could be hacked, we have to be careful that it does not happen.

Not at all,it is just an interface and doesn't store or save any user details that can be accessed by hackers.Unless you give your private key to some one or mistakenly let someone have access in which case it will be theft but not a hack.

Every wallet can be hacked but mostly because the owner doesn't care about their wallet. They never fix their attitude about how to protect their wallet. Such as, they click link into MEW with out check the address correctly, use another device or network to open their wallet, last one is their data really stolen from their pc/ laptop. This is modern technology and everything could happen just do what is necessary to protect your wallet. Good luck with you.

Because we're now in the era in everything is possible and hackers always think ahead of us. So the least we can do here is being cautious in everything we do and don't use private keys instead use metamask for logging in MEW. We're all responsible and be mindful in everything.

Yes ED got hacked and the attacker got access from their DNS, fake order books and fake social media accounts got released from the fake website that incident happens last month, that's why it looks suspicious that time and I decided not to trade with ED until now as the website load slower than before, what kind of fail transaction did happen? can you put the tx here in your thread so that we can check what wrong with your transactions? better use another eth wallet as it seems your former wallet got compromised for the last attack.

My ether wallet cannot be hacked because it needs private key access and it also impossible to find the codes too but the scammers are using the phishing links which can copy your private key and then all your funds will be stolen so keep your system offline when it is not needed and nevere store your private key in the system itself.

I would suggest use secure connection with Firewall and Computer without any bugs. Keep swiping the computer for malware. Login only when necessary, Keep track of tokens using etherscan or some other services.

Never share password/Public keys with anyone or keep the backup encrypted. Best way is to write it down and store it somewhere safe.

Yes,we need to take care of our money because now a days hackers are everywhere so keeping your system offline is important because the chance of getting compromised when it is online.Yes we can track our token balance using etherscan then we can reduce the chance of getting hacked.But the most impostant is to keep our private key secured like a paperwallet then no hacker can steal it.

I think every wallet possess the risk of being hacked, and if it being hacked its mainly because our own fault that letting people to access our own private key, there are lots of stories about people losing money in MEW since there are no 2nd protection protocol in there. I lost $80k worth of tokens last month without even i noticing that my token was being transferred, suspected that my computer was being ratted and the private key was stolen. I blame myself for the negligent and its better to write your private key in a piece of paper or store it somewhere offline. You never know if you're already being hacked or not.

Yes your MEW is hackable. Maybe you were hacked because you gave your private keys accidentally to someone or you joined some airdrops which are obviously a SCAM because they are asking for your private keys. Your Private Key is your only access to MEW so others cannot hack it if they don't know your Private Key. Be extra careful next time.

No it can't be hacked coz it doesn't keep the private key and Json file in their database , so even if it hacked , hackers don't have your key , but you could trapped by phishing websites, you need to check the address on address bar carefully and bookmark it , recently same domain websites with a little different of one or two characters have increased a lot for phishing .

What do you do before your wallet got hack and impactlose to your token?
If you still remember then never do it again because you must learn from experience. And pleasse remember that MEW is hackable if we dont aware and careful.

if hacker just use a filling random private key or you click any malicious link and redirected to fake MEW site, of course it have a big chance that your key will be stolen or if you give a wrong paste code in filling on form
something like you wanna paste your wallet address, but you've just paste your private key of your wallet.

Man people talking about hacking blockchain, you are saying my ether wallet can be hacked  :D, everything can be hacked, nothing is fully secure, so diversify your every coin to different wallets so that you can't lose all of them.

Yes it can be hack if you will expose your private keys in internet or others. Some funds stolen are because of phising website and malware virus been injected to the computer. If you are unsure with your wallet, transfer it to a hardware wallet. This move can lessen the risk of getting hack.

You will lose your ETH/tokens only if you enter your private keys on a phishing site. MEW is just an client-side ETH interface/wallet, it doesn't stores your keys/data on a server. if you want to securely access your ETH then buy a hardware wallet or download MEW and run it locally[1].

From day one i am using myetherwallet to protect my tokens, still now i am not facing any issues in this wallet. But there is a lots of chance to hack by scam website. Better you should not leak your private key any of the website. So before use private key research on that and protect your private key. Metamask wallet also is good and safe.

If the private key know others for sure they will open your account.  So better if you keep it safe in document that no one knows except you. You need to secure your private key to thr dafe place like documents that have password so no one can knows about the private key or password.  For sure other people keep their private key to the safe place because they have a lot of tokrns their and if they are not they lose their all tokens.

its depends on you how to  care of your privatekey for your MEW, myetherwallet as i understand hard to hack or open your personal account it bcause the privatekeys are very secured. even the owner of the account if he/she lose their keys have nothing chance to open of their account and all investment are can't transfer or withdraw.

For me it depends on how the user care their private key. There are many hacker in this world. Sometimes there's a situation that you are really careful on your private key but the hacker is already hacked your wallet and you have no idea how they can do that.

Misspelled urls are usually phishing sites so make sure that you double check before entering the url. Aside from this, you can be hacked if someone have access to your private keys. Yeah and to add to that, unless you carelessly visit a phishing website and ended up inputting your private key, then the wallet is gone as well as all the funds in it. Internet is filled with a lot of fraudsters and hackers, so it is always necessary to stay secured, stay alert, bookmark some official pages, and then if possible just look for cold storage to store every asset. Sacrificing few dollars for the safety of your assets should not even be debated.

Myetherwallet can be hack many users had been attacked by hackers. Through phishing sites, accidentally you share your own private keys to others. So many history that mew users had been hacked as this why we need to be careful.

No I don't think it can be hacked, yes it can be hacked but very little chance for that. If you run it offline, then you are more safe but your computer can be hacked then as well  :)

I think you should buy a licensed antivirus software. And be careful when visiting phishing sites. Do not click on links on social networking sites. I have a few friends, their wallets are attacked by hackers. They do not secure 2FA for their accounts. I think you should buy a personal computer for storing electronic wallets. And buy the license of anti-virus software. Do not visit the bad sites, scams. I have always been cautious of my account, because my family lives on the business of the crypto market.

I think it's not a hack if you do not say your wallet to someone else and all the information you need to get in the background so that when something happens on your account you have a evidence to tell the support.

First you say you can't get hacked online and the you say you can get hacked.

Then you say running an offline wallet is safe and you can't get hacked and then you say you can get hacked as well.

We are in a digital world, filled up with digital thieves and anyone who cannot try as much as possible to stay at alert, avoid any email links and tighten up the security of their wallets, should better go stick with the use of a cold storage.

If you are afraid to be hack then put all your coins/tokens on a hard wallet there I am sure its secured and no one will hack you unless you lost your wallet or gave your private key unintentionally.

Yes, dont continue using the wallet which you are afraid about because it can risk all of your token there.
Myetherwallet and other online wallet is very high risk can be hacked by profesional hacker. Always becareful.

myetherwallet of course can be stolen by way of phishing but therefore when we want to login in the wallet we have better login using json file that we have to be more secure.

Yah, just follow the secure option given by the wallets. Just follow them option provided and activate in your mobile and desktop as per instruction given. Main thing to look at when ever you log into the wallet URL, make sure you log into the correct url. I have an experience in loosing bitcoin when logging into a fake URL. Try book marking the wallet URL. Follow myetherwallet's instruction. Your money will be very safe.

Keep your private key safe, beware of the scam than may request for it especially on slack and your mail address, if you reveal it once, your account is at risk. A lot of account was hacked that November / December. It is never a sweet experience. Be vigilant

Hi dude. I am also using myetherwallet from the begining. Still now i don't have any prob with that. Its safe and secured. As per my knowledge without leaking your private key there is no option to hack you wallet. So whenever before using private key you should check the correct website link and you should not click anyother scam link. Be aware of that.

myetherwallet is safe and secure as long as you can save your private keys and only you that is know and don't share to anyone even for your family. but I don't recommend to save all of your tokens in myetherwallet because it is better to send it to the market so you can do fast selling if the price increase and you don't need to wait to long for sending the tokens.

Ethereum transaction is very fast so for me its safe to store your tokens in my MEW instead of just let it sit on my trading exchange account. I will only transfer my tokens when I'm ready to sell it and I don't think that you need to wait that long.

So its up to us, how responsible we are in protecting our MEW accounts. If your account has been hacked or leaked and you lost everything. There's no one to blame but yourself.

I know many bitcoiner who uses myetherwallet and all of them are satisfied and trusted the wallet.  I also used this wallet for a long time and I do not hear any news yet complaining that they experienced being hacked using this wallet.  From that, I think myetherwallet is a safe keeping avenue for tokens and altcoins.  But as a precaution, we should do everything to keep our password private and secret.

There are many ways in our today's world to protect your wallest more safe and securely if you are using these kind of wallets you will make protection in all possible ways this will helpful your wallet not to be hacked by the hackers , if you do these all things the possibility of lossing money will be very very low .

My ether wallet is very safe unless someone got access to your private key. Mostly MEW advices that you use your keystore and password during transactions and not directly use your private key. Your private key can be used mostly when you have no other option.
