Agreed, I have thousands in btc and see it falling but I'm sticking with it. I have been staying away from altcoins other than etc and ltc. I do beleive these three will have utlility in the future and probably some other alts but I just see 2,000 alts with billions released at once and it seems redicoulous. I am not comparing crypto to any other investment but I've weathered stock, gold and real estate declines and I've been rewarded for sticking with it or buying low, aka dollar cost averaging. Money can be made in the pump and dump alts but I beleive the big three and probably more are with us for the long haul. My plan is to hold my gold for ten years, prob do the same with crypto

Hey man, dont have to be so crude, there are people who can stand more risks than others. If in anycase you cannot hodl, letting go is normal. Trading is a machine that balances money amongst those who who more or less patience.

If there were no people like that then you wouldn't make a dime in crypto. For one to make money in crypto another has to lose it. If there are no panic sellers then there would be less or hardly any money to be able to make in crypto. You do realise that practicly all the money one makes mostly come from panic sellers? If you do not realise this, then you don't even know how crypto works. And if you want to go full risk, just go to a casino instead and bet it all since you want to act the man that much.

Cryptocurrency is a waiting game and if you don't have any balls then you should be out of the game. In here 3 iron balls is needed for you to win trades and win in hodling! :D. This thing will inspire you guys. Just think about bitcoin, last 2010, the price of one is only .2. And it became this kind of high, on December it hit its ath at 20,000! Great thing right? And also, I have a friend in which he is hodling XRP, he's one of the ICO's investor and look at the price of XRP, about 2 dollars. So, have some balls.

Big profit, big risk. Trading is not just about profit, but also loss. If ready for profit then be ready to lose. Many new traders are just following the trend because bitcoin prices are high, then panic when prices fall. Though it is a natural thing, take it easy. Well, the reason why we have so many people panicking about the price is because so many people have jumped into this market with zero prior experience in trading, so they don't know how to manage risks, how to spot a FUD, pumps and dumps and so on. And since a lot of newcomers are getting in after hearing about cryptocurrencies from their friends or some internet articles or even television, those who are promoting cryptocurrencies should warn potential newbies about all the dangers. It is simply not enough to tell people to buy Bitcoin, not only there's a chance that they might panic sell, but there's also many other risks like scams and malware.

No point asking the weak to get out of Crypto world. If they lose money, it will either make them stronger sooner or get out by themselves sooner. But then we will see more of these people condemning Crypto and bitcoin as a whole.

That is quite right, but what is your definition about "weak" ? It's true that not everyone can dare to invest, but you should know that all the rich people are sure to invest. Why ? Because that's how rich people make money. The poor and the middle class just work and save, while the rich multiply their money by way of investment. That is what we must model from the lifestyle of the rich. And if we want to be rich, we have to invest. We do not have to invest into cryptocurrency, we can invest into a variety of other things that may even be more certain than cryptocurrency. Examples such as: Home, land, gold, silver, property, and so forth.

And that's just stocks, money, trading goes. No matter what currency you are using, everytime we deal with a business you just gotta be tough and be ready for changes.
Though, all of us started from being a newbie - just you know, if you are new to trading and this kind of kinds of stuff just be prepared to be disappointed and learn from your mistakes.

It is so hilarious to me that people who insisted that bitcoin was a scam when it was under 1k, now want me to help them set up wallets after it is above 10k!  People who previously thought it was too expensive for 1k, now will pay 15k.  It makes no damn sense but that is how it works.

Bitcoin is always failing, just failed, the bubble just burst, etc.  I read an article in december about OMG bitcoin is going to CRASH all the way down to 5k!!!! Oh the humanity!  But I didn't expect it to hit even 5k in 2017, so for me that is still pretty bullish.  Anyway there is always so much FUD, I have to agree with the OP, even if I might word it differently, that crypto markets are not for the faint of heart.

the thing is, nobody wants them out really. i know it is annoying at times to see how weak handed some people are and how they believe the FUD and jump on board of it, but people are either holders who don't care what the short term fluctuations are and may even enjoy the dip to buy more or they are traders who enjoy these fluctuations. the bigger the better. that is how a trader makes a living. if more weak hands sell the more profit these traders will make.

Firstly, this is not like buying stocks. A company's stock has a value and some sort of basis depending on demand driven by sales growth. Their is no basis to drive Bitcoin prices higher except for the speculation that prices will go up one day.

Secondly, its not a typical investment either. There is nothing tangible that you're getting out of purchasing Crypto.

Thirdly, since trading Crypto has no regulations, borders, or governing bodies, it has attracted all sorts of hackers, thieves, money launderers and scammers from all over the world.

So when you say its not for the weak and to get the hell out, that is not entirely correct. There is a judgement that people make to assess risk vs. reward before buying.

The more people who want to buy, the better the demand and higher the price, so you probably don't want to people to get the hell out.

One must have the confidence and ability to take risk to stay in the business. I believe that no risk, no game should be the motive.

It's a continuous process of learning and being able to discern what is FUD from what is not, some of the news really indicates of decrease on the price of BTC. Some of them will grow up and learn to their mistakes, don't throw these newbies on cryptoworld. I am once like that and eventually i learned, I don't know if you are like or you were once like that, but i hope you can give them chance and guide them rather than saying this.

Many a time I had read in telegram ICO groups something like below.
->Investors of an ICO demand the ICO team to list the token immediately in the exchange even though it's only been a week after the token sale, they are also saying in telegram that they wasted their money in this ICO.
->Investors demand the team to make a news so that the token price will rise.
It's like they sailed in an ocean they knew not.

I don't think they are all weak but I think they didn't have enough experience about cryptocurrencies. The lack of knowledge and patience is the problem. I mean who didn't get scared if they lost a big amount of money in a second, if they well experienced they can handle it without too much trouble.

Yes, if you're prone to Fud in bitcoin and other cryptocurrency you don't have place in the cryptocurrency industry because no matter what you do here in cryptocurrency industry has a risk from buying bitcoins/cryptocurrency, investing to ICO's, Saving money using bitcoin, doing transaction online, trading, etc. has a risk so in order for you to earn or to have process you need to face risk.

There are only to outcomes here:
1. You're going to doubt and you're going to stay like this and no progress at all.
2. You're going to face risk and learn, earn from it.

So if you don't have the guts you don't have place in the cryptocurrency industry.

and yes weak hands work two ways. they both cause drastic drops and big rises alike. they are the irrational investors in the market not just dumpers.

Either you are a investor or a speculator, a professional trader or a amateur one, emotional investor who bought Bitcoin on FOMO without understanding the fundamentals and panics out at the first sign of FUD, it's all part and parcel of the free market. Weak hands either get smart or leave on their own.

I think the crypto market sorts this out on its own. If you are risk averse, or "weak" you won't be able to take pressure and will eventually leave on your own anyway. The FUD will always be part of this game, because nothing is centrally regulated and anything can happen at any time.

The greater the profits the greater the risk so it is better to know what you are getting yourself in to before diving in half-hearted then complain about it later..

Without 'weak people' susceptible to FUD or FOMO, crypto's volatility wouldn't be so great. Depending on how the institutional buyers/whales would act, you might not be able to make that much money on altcoins especially.

I do agree that you need to be a man if you want to stay in the crypto world. You need to face the future of your portfolio if it becomes bullish or bearish because of a FUD. You need to be someone who has a patience like a wife to his husband or vice versa. Don't you worry about others who are easily affected as sooner or later they will eventually learn from their mistakes  ;)

Without all the weak people in the crypto market, I don't think the price of the coins would be so volatile. Also, money moves from weak hands to the strong hands.

To be honest, a lot of people aren't really qualified to be in the cryptocurrency world and it's kind of irritating sometimes. If you want to earn money on the Internet but you're not really always on the Internet beforehand, I really don't recommend going for cryptocurrencies to earn money. I suggest that you try to improve yourself first and explore more parts of the Internet first. You can do Pay-to-click, pay-to-download, money-making apps, etc. It is just not worth it to be in crypto right away because you will be scared and manipulated by the ones that are bigger than you. This is a game where you should not show the people that you are indeed scared of these FUD by not really being affected by it.

A lot of FUD has been going on in this place and if you are going to listen to each and every one of those, you will end up leaving bitcoin. There's just so much terrifying sentences that you would read here. Another thing, you should be able to know if someone is an Internet troll or not. People are going to scam you. True, true. But everyone has to learn patience after getting involved with crypto trading. When you are dealing in trading industry where buying and selling are involved in which prices are not that stable there are gonna be bad times and good times, meaning you are lacking trust and confidence then it is safe to say this is not a place for you because in bitcoin its gonna be a long-term investments in which the return you want will not always come in your desired period of time.

Hell yeah! this is very straight forward and indeed message to those people who always scared and getting FUD everytime the bitcoin value goes down. There is no place in crypto currency for those people. You will only ended up losing your investment or money.

Those investors who have weak hands still has a lot to learn. They don't need to get the hell out of cryptocurrency universe, we need them. They need to learn something from their mistakes and use it to make profit by applying what they have thru experience.

Losing 1 BTC is really huge, so I can’t blame people for getting scared or losing faith after losing that huge ampunt of money. Some may even get tramautized after having such an experience but it can be said it’s inevitable for traders to lose. One must simply learn to accept and control their emotions. You are definitely right.
Losing one (1) BTC is a huge-loss but like the title of the thread, investing into cryptocurrencies or investing in general is not for the weak-willed and minded. Before you start to invest, you should consider that money as "MONEY THAT YOU ARE WILLING TO LOSE. You also should know the repercussions of your decision when you invest something big and to an entity whose security is less compared to the other types of investment. Nevertheless, a loss is still a loss and your only remedy is for you to accept and move-on. That's what investing is and it is not always a bed of roses.

How can you tell if someone is weak about cryptocurrencies? If they are afraid to trade or to invest? If they are now willing to take the risk and to gamble their bitcoin for the greater good for themselves? It may be true for others but not all who don't take the risks are weak. It may seem so, but for them, they are looking at the bigger picture and are being smart with their holdings.

It is not all about being a man and having ball's to keep your bitcoins in wallet when the price goes down without stopping. That is not enough because maybe you choosed the wrong coin and you wait like a man for price to increase again but that coin is dead and will disappear in a few weeks. You got to also be intelligent and choose the right coins to buy and also to know if the price is going to increase in future after it falls. Not all coins come back after their price goes down.

Such a words of conviction but you should be balanced for cryptocurrency you should also keep your fears not just pure courage without watching your steps but your point is right if you are weak minded without the resolve and strong belief you cannot win to market nor lay a finger into trading, it takes balls to trade or hold in cryptocurrency but for the weak people to go for this type of investment these makes them grow to a strong person and they are one of the reasons why the market always fluctuates.

This is the real fucking truth in here, i do not understand why a lot of people who are always scared of a little 10% decrease or 20% are always selling their bitcoins, is that because you do not have balls? You need to have a huge stomach in order to join crypto.

Lolz. You must be angry bird and hating those pigs who are not doing everything in the crypto currency with proper planing and judgments. Well you are not wrong at your place because its really disturbs the market in many ways, the way these panic sellers and broken hearts sell their crypto currencies is very bad. They create the panic reaction in many other people as well leading to worst cases. Such as too weak market capitalisation and broken developments. So for this not to happen we can't do anything much but we should motivate people to invest but hold for longer and in those situation where the bitcoin is crashing. Hopefully this scenario will change and we will see some goodness in the crypto soon. Otherwise market will keep diving dip.

Something tells me people aren't going to take your advice. Most people who get involved in bitcoin these days are kids who think they've found a magical get rich quick scheme and think they're bad boy investors when the price is going up, but then when it goes down they shit themselves and start to panic. I agree that crypto isn't for weak hands and you should only invest what you can afford to lose but people aren't going to heed your advice and continue to panic and fall for fud as people always do.

There is nothing there to man up,if you are playing with your hard earned money you have to be careful. Just try once to own something volatile and hold onto it when the market sentiment is negative,if you are good at it you will stay away from the market until the market settles down,when it comes to crypto currency any negative news will have an impact on the price and hence you have to be smart rather than showing fake sentiments.

I couldn't agree more. I hate seeing all these people driven by USD price and hoping IOTA to reach 100$ without any knowledge of how the market cap works whatsoever.

Their is a word called no risk no gain so if you got some gut you gotta be taking risk and play the risk game or else no gain yeah but before taking that risk do some research initially.

Blockchain is a rising technology and there will always be a certain amount of risk involved with investments in it. But there is no doubt that the risk takers will be getting the most benefit out of it thou.

This is true if you don't have the courage to lose money then you are not in the real place, if you don't think outside the box you do not belong here and if you don't have patience then you do not belong here. In the world of cryptocurrency, you need those things to be able to invest and earn money. I do think that people do not know how it really works because they are not properly educated or they have not been in the crypto world for a long time. It takes time to just learn about it and earning it. So if you have those characteristics and want to earn big, then do us all a favor and learn about it first.

Not all risk takers will be getting the most benefit out of it tho, they also need luck on their side so that they can avoid failures in their investments.  Also, the reason why they are called risk takers is that they are unsure about their decision if it will be a success or not, so the best thing they could do is do some extensive research before making a final one and turn the odds in their favor.

Risks are things to be faced. We can not eliminate it, but we can avoid it by learning the right techniques, and learning from experience. People who succeed with cryptocurrency must have experienced many failures until they can succeed. The thing that happened lately is that many newcomers are just looking for profit without preparing themselves for risk, so they are very disappointed when the reality that they can not match expectations.

I do agree, this is a hard and tough world, even a man can crumble down in this world. So before you invest, make sure you do your calculation right, make your plan, and stick with it, if it fails, just stand still and wait for it and make it happen, don't give up by doing some panic sell.

There is a way to reduce your chance of doing a bad mistake (like selling in a panic mode) in any investment, which are, only to invest the money you can afford to lose and then grab your ROI (return of investment) if you already make a big profit.

here as I consider the most important psychology, as in any trade, you can earn money very quickly, but you can also lose a lot because of psychology.

Dear author, if there were no people who lose on the stock exchange crypto currency, there would be no victories, you should understand that what you earned on the exchange is the money of those investors who lost on the stock exchange. Most will start weak. We cannot blame them when they get caught on traps lying on the ground. Give them time to grow and learn. Not all are as strong as you are. Though I admit that I hate weaklings falling to an obvious FUD but we cannot neglect the fact that most of us were weak at first. But when the time comes and these weaklings did not grow strong then that's the time that they should leave this game. They'll just end up feeding whales.

It's just a phase for the new trader in the market.If they didn't experience it they will not grow as a trader,can't make a prediction and can't read the chart.So let them be,what can we do is to teach and give advice for people who tend to panic when the price drop and sell their investment,not to tell them to get the hell out from the cryptocurrency business.I'm sure you understand it.

I agree if there is no patience no point in trading cryptocurrency and holding then for long instead dump them early and stay happy. This is how I see the weak hearts. Also,many of them also partially withdraw and hold the rest not to lose their profit in long term. I would still suggest that holding long term would give good results, this is what happened with the top coins.

I completely agree with you. If you don't believe and have faith in bitcoin then get outta here. Why are people like that buying something they don't believe in. Also when people sell their Bitcoin for fiat and only think of bitcoin in terms of "cashing out" they miss the fact that bitcoin is in fact a working currency.

So where are your money? I get that you might just be starting out but you shouldn't say such if you haven't really tried it yet. I get your point that you should do the same thing as what other successful people have done in the past. But do you have the means? I mean, Elon Musk have opened up different businesses and have talked to different events. But of course he had to train himself first and learn things. But do you have the means to study that much too. Do you have the resources and the mental ability to learn such?

These people have been training for a long time, probably ever since childhood. Their minds are basically trained to be like that.



But the actual loss will actually happen once the market has go down. The people that just bought bitcoins and haven't really sold it at a lower price hasn't felt that they have lost money yet. But the last people to leave the market are the real ones that're going to lose the most. Not the people that have sold at a lower price.

Unfortunately, crypto currency is for everyone, verbally asking dumbasses to limit themselves from crypto would not solve the problem. FUDs would always come. Weak hands would always tend to exist. But thanks to these FUDs markets can catch up a break, they can not get aggressive and then a lot of people get the opportunity to invest again.
