Title: Pcie riser Post by: Shadow553 on January 12, 2018, 01:06:04 AM Hello guys,
Does Pcie Riser 3.0 works if my pcie On motherboard is 2.0. Thanks in advance! Title: Re: Pcie riser Post by: Bitfort on January 12, 2018, 02:49:58 AM It should work because PCI 3 GPUs are backwards compatible with PCI 2 slots. But I might be wrong.

PCIe 2.0 came out in 2007. It can handle 1–5 billion transfers per second. Each lane can send 500 MB/second. PCIe 3.0 came out in 2010. It can handle up to 8 billion transfers per second. The slot is the same, and the newer specification supports faster transfers, but is compatible with previous speeds.PCI express 2.0 has a peak speed of 8 GB/s. and PCIe 3.0 has a peak speed of 16 GB/s. No it does not influence the memory tech you have (DDR2/GDDR5/whatever).. Speed is the main difference.
