Title: Campbx selling is always 10usd under MtGox, frustrating!
Post by: BixCoinage on August 14, 2013, 06:10:41 PM
I started using Campbx after Dwolla was shut down from MtGox. The trading price is always at least 10 usd below mtgox.
Obviously Campbx is making a good 10% off of each btc a person trades via their site.
It seems anyway you sell btc you are paying a premium, or running around meeting people via local bitcoins.....UGH.

MtGox is the outlier here, if you look at other exchanges they are all about $10 under the MtGox price.
The reason is that it's very hard to withdraw fiat from MtGox so the only way to get value out is to buy bitcoins. Obviously this means a higher demand for bitcoins on MtGox relative to others.

An exchange where you can't withdraw fiat isn't a proper exchange, I'm using bitstamp instead.

Note to all newbies. Do not use MtGox. Just don't.
