Title: [2018-01-12] Indian Industry Giant Reliance to Start its own Cryptocurrency
Post by: neerv on January 12, 2018, 08:55:22 PM
Given the influence Reliance has over the Indian government and even general population, this move might just lead to an improved acceptance of Cryptocurrencies in India. I won't be too hopeful for the "JioCoin" itself though!

If a big corporate company lobbies with the government, it will be to shut down other cryptocurrencies so that it can have a monopoly. Reliance certainly will have no qualms about trying to queer the regulatory pitch for competitors. And since cryptocurrencies already have a negative connotation in the minds of Indian politicians, they will be eager to legislate against decentralized cryptos.
