If the $/BTC goes up without difficulty going up then it makes it more profitable to buy/rent computing power in order to mine. But when people do that the difficulty will go up.

My guess is that [value of a coin]/difficulty will decrease over time because people will find the most efficient mining set ups, best chips, cheapest electricity, etc. So if you can't profitably mine right now, you probably never will. But other people will continually have better and cheaper methods so difficulty will continue to rise.

I have little experience in cloud investment on a popular cloud service and I can say that your profit will depends on how much you able to invest. For example, as I understand from my trying, if you invest 100$ your profit will be not a big one and you can get it in a lot of time, after you was buy the cloud service. Now it is about a 6 month to get your money back in cloud service I use now, and about one year to get ±200% profit. So, as you can see, if you will invest 1000$ you also will get your money back in 6 month or so, but right after you get your money back you will be in profit and its amount depends of your amount of investing. Of course there are risks in the form of growing complexity, new mining technologies, various market factors that strongly affect the final result - on net profit. And to take risks or not is the decision of everyone. Based on my experience and advice on this forum, I would not recommend cloud mining as a primary or secondary way to earn money.

Now it is easy with Ankr Network platform. Now you can become a source of carrier to the cloud services. Ankr is making that easier and more affordable. The real plan is yet to come but this project has a huge potential. A decentralized cloud computing platform which will definitely going to a bright performer in the cloud computing World.
