Title: Using Integrated GPU and Discrete GPU at the same time ?
Post by: GTX-DoX on August 15, 2013, 09:46:18 PM
Alright, here's my config:
CPU: i5 2500k
MoBo: ASUS Maximus V Gene
RAM: Crucial Ballistix Tactical Tracer 2x4GB @2133Mhz
VGA: MSI R7970 Lightning 3GB GDDR5
MON: BenQ RL2455HM 24" 1ms
HDD: OCZ Vertex 4 128GB, WD 500GB AAKS, WD 500GB AAKX
Case: Thermaltake Overseer RX-I - OCZ ModXStream Pro 600W
SND: ASUS Xonar DGX
OS: Win7 Ultimate 64-Bit

I just want to make my Integrated GPU from the CPU work for Youtube and usual work on the PC, while the discrete GPU will do the mining 24/7 at the same time..
My monitor has 2xHDMI inputs, 1xDVI, 1xVGA... Motherboard has 1xDisplayPort, 1xHDMI outputs.

How to connect everything and use my graphics card for mining separately while having my Integrated GPU working for Youtube etc... ? How to setup, what to turn on/off, change.... ?

And here are some replies for more info:

It would be great if someone has tried this or had similar issues to help me :/

Let me see, Regardless it is. Do you have Windows License?

I used to do one thing, Two GPUs, one nvidia and one AMD. If you have the idea, then You may know how to.

In short, In order to configure, It is better to check BIOS first as BIOS has  a function called display sequence if you are not using Xeon CPU. If using i5 or i7 ( general model) ,set Internal first then Externel ( should not be set as auto as I never think it works)

If there is something called Lucid,SLI or Crossfire, DISABLE. According to Chapter 5.3 of the motherboard manual,Switch off the MVP, then you can do the business.  I think you have installed the MVP application, default option is on but not noticed, so switch off if O
n, I have a suggestion. Read the manual first before ask people as people are usually nasty and very mature, especially  on the forum.

I also have studied your stuff. I have found the manual, simulate yourself to make the stuff workable as I may consider Z-series later on.
