Title: What do you guys think about the new PSUs in CES 2018 for MINNERS? Post by: tenebriscaelum on January 13, 2018, 03:15:32 PM Its this time of the year where the Consumer Electronics Show is in the books at Las Vegas Nevada and as I have noticed there are new PSUs that seemed to be targeted for crypto miners. Like the AX1600i of Corsair with 80 PLUS Titanium efficiency and EVGA's new Supernova 2200 P2 that delivers 2,200 watts of 80 Plus Platinum efficiency that supposed to seven GeForce GTX 1080 Ti's. I seams like some of the companies want to provide crypto miners enough wattage to power multiple GPUs in a single PSU.

Post by: Vann on January 13, 2018, 03:20:22 PM I believe the EVGA 2200 P2 is 240V only, so not much difference from a server PSU other than ATX compatibility without a breakout and Pico board. Should be quieter, but much more $ compared to a server PSU.

You can buy a 2400w server PSU and modify it to work for $150 or so versus what im guessing would be around a $600 USD ATX psu at 2200w. |
