why does everyone starting a new coin have to have such a high supply ? Why not do a normal small number?

It's ((2^64-1)/10) coins. That's just a way of saying the limit is more of a technical amount. A large supply isn't a big deal since you get more coins per block. Do you really want a scenario where 1 coin is $15k like Bitcoin. That's ridiculous!

Maybe you haven't watched CoinMarketCap or seen exchanges crash down under the load of transactions lately, but the highest gainers the past days are coins with a gigantic supply that were worthless and are suddenly worth a lot.

Have you allowed forknoted.exe through windows firewall?

If that still doesn't work, I suggest opening command prompt and running "forknoted --config-file .\coin.conf"

You need to specify rpc port for wallet to communicate with the daemon. In downloaded it is --daemon-rpc-port option. For me it was like this:
miner.exe --address FATwJq4RF61WdwRq59E16vV2S5ZBV6MN58Axt5BYYV1ySRTk1SprjKbUYsiQ93uZ3sHjjDp6NYdyDeJ 1ZJy471AAUBo8WET --threads 2 --daemon-rpc-port 12991 --log-level 4

the --log-level 4 is for additional output of the miner

seems it';s not working !  dev please stop your testing ~~~ you'v released 3 test projects till now

and now it's just a Forknote coin.....even no place to set password for wallet  :(

what's different ? any special than the past 2 version ?

the old RCOIN has a very new idea, it's so different with other altcoins, why not keep developing on that ???

He should at least show some progress with this new one. Huge supply so this one might end up at 1 sat or no value at all. That is if there's no significant development here.

I actually have a roadmap this time. My next project will be improving the messaging feature, which is currently still very basic (but working! I encourage you to try it).

RCoinX

RCoin is a decentralized peer-to-peer currency building upon the ideas of Bitcoin. The latest version, RCoinX, is a CryptoNote based cryptocurrency that I’m sure you’ll find is convenient and great to use. RCoin is designed to be ASIC resistant by requiring relatively large amounts of memory per hash.

The old RCoin had various issues, from not working at all to too much inflation.

Max supply is 1844674407 coins with a block time of 10s.

We also include a new "Anonymous Message" feature allowing you to send an anonymous message to anyone on the network.

For the full description, see our site: http://tinyrcoin.github.io (http://tinyrcoin.github.io).

Please note there is no real premine. About 11 blocks were mined simply to test the coin.

There are no pools yet, but I hope there will be soon. Also we're looking to get listed on any decent exchange. If anyone here can help us, please PM me.

My address (XRX): F7ZDViDNSaYL8a13mzh2FCM2L7StmS1CtYNhtZ1ba1uqLU3kVAUuAKZYi89mkXqtrfB52Vs23eAtHAz SnX6t8YiSKvgoXbF

Edit: Remember to start mining everyone! It doesn't make sense if I only do it.

What is the advantage of your coin over, for example, Zerocoin? There is anon tech and fast transactions and it seems that you are not offering much more than that at this point in time?

Seriously, you didn't even change the coin name from "forknote" in CryptoNoteConfig.h, left all the seed nodes as bytecoin nodes, didn't set a proper base_58_prefix etc etc. If you're going to do a copy/paste coin, at least bother to change the things that need changing.

I didn't recompile, I wrote out a config file with the options I wanted. That's supported. My main selling point is the anonymous messaging which I've written from scratch.

It does work. Also on the password bit: I am working on that and if you recall, previous RCoin did not have password support for wallets.

No, it doesn't work.

I have many active peers and several miners. I'll have to see more why it doesn't work for some. I test on my PC and in a VM, but that doesn't cover every configuration so it's hard to tell.

Excuse me, why don't you put more info about the project here, instead of redirecting to your website.
I think it's easier to get the information than we have to go back and forth to another link.

No, it doesn't work.

I have many active peers and several miners. I'll have to see more why it doesn't work for some. I test on my PC and in a VM, but that doesn't cover every configuration so it's hard to tell.

I couldn't get the GUI Wallet working, however managed to set up the daemon, the simple wallet and the miner from command line (windows 10, 64 Bit)

I'm getting a few blocks here and there running a Ryzen 1700.

However I'm suspecting the scale/economics of the coin might be out of alignment (broken) due to the massive coin distribution of 1844674407 coins

I've grabbed block height 582, 597,603,619,636,643,644,672,689,690 and 728 in the last 30 minutes or so.

Obviously this is early days and I'm one of the few miners who have this working. I'm using a Ryzen 1700, but only devoted 6 threads to the mining, so I'm not exactly a mining powerhouse (plus I'm not going to burn my CPU with all coins at 100% for such a speculative endeavour).

So I've got 2198 coins in the simple wallet now, which sounds fantastic in theory for 30 minutes of mining.

But, thats in theory...

The problem is, the coin supply is 1.8 Billion Coins.
And, the coin is Cryptonight.
As soon as someone sets up a pool (and gets GPU mining up), anything I mine now is going to be a tiny drop in the ocean and a complete waste of time and energy. I suspect people will be pulling millions with a GPU.

So, whilst I love the "no-premine" and the opportunity to grab a few blocks early, the reward for doing so is just not enough for me to be crushing my CPU on my desktop PC. Especially when you consider even a 1 sat price on an exchange seems very fanciful based on the massive distribution.

Dev : I applaud your tenacity and efforts to get your coin off the ground, but I'm not sure the massive distribution is a good idea. Having said that I'd welcome your input and thoughts into why you might think otherwise :)

Each coin is supposed to have a lower value. I do not want one coin to be worth $100 or $1000. Preferably, one coin would be worth $0.10, which is the reason for the higher block rewards.

Why you keep start a new thread? You should stick to one. Only in this way can you build up a strong comunity. The community will help you to test it before its final launch. But why.... This is your 3rd project.

This is not a scam, especially since I'm not asking for money.

And yes, there will be a v2, but not as a separate thread.

Edit: If it was fake, what would I gain? There's no malware so I couldn't make money from a botnet or something. Just try to waste people's time? That'd waste my time too.

Scam? Why ? this is not an ICO, presale, premine even.  This is a fair ANN, like the 2 others. I understood a angry miner of the last coins, I am sad with my HashRate lost in the last project, but less and less, because is part of the game, and now I am learning to accept these losses as I accept the profits.

Bitcointalk is not a supermarket, is a forum, of user, miners, holders, speculator... and devs of cryptocurrencies, anyone is free to make a 3, or 1000 iterations of his project. And we are free to mining or not.

How about a discord to start, a proper linux/unix build to actually make pools (you don't want this on Windows)

You can always use general forknote builds; though I expect Linux users to build it themselves. I did it -- its not hard.

Also I prefer IRC tbh.

and now is 179-180 block

for who doesnt work just try this.

I see new blocks so it's working!

explain please?

You need to specify rpc port for wallet to communicate with the daemon. In downloaded it is --daemon-rpc-port option. For me it was like this:
miner.exe --address FATwJq4RF61WdwRq59E16vV2S5ZBV6MN58Axt5BYYV1ySRTk1SprjKbUYsiQ93uZ3sHjjDp6NYdyDeJ 1ZJy471AAUBo8WET --threads 2 --daemon-rpc-port 12991 --log-level 4

the --log-level 4 is for additional output of the miner

is that for the gui wallet???
I dont see the daemon port option??

No, it is for command line tools. GUI wallet is not starting on my PC.
To start with coin, first you need to start forknoted.exe daemon. Open the command line in folder where forknoted.exe file is located and type forknoted.exe -config-file ./coin.conf. It will start your daemon which will connect to network and will download blockchain to your PC.
Next thing is creating a wallet. Open cmd in folder where the simplewallet.exe file is located and type simplewallet.exe --config-file ./coin.conf. From this point follow the instructions to create your new wallet.
If you want to start mining open cmd in folder there the miner.exe is located and type miner.exe --adress <wallet address> --threads <number of threads> --daemon-rpc-port 12991. This will start the miner and you will start solo mining the coin. Do not close the cmd window where forknoted.exe is running. It should be started and synced when you want to perform actions with coin (mine, send).

This will be something like a program of telegrams on a blockchain? The anonymous messaging system allows you to send an anonymous message to any user with the TkWallet software. The recipient does not know who sent the message, so you will need to find another way to identify yourself with the recipient (if you so decide). An anonymous message costs only the network charge for sending (about 0.0001 RCoin).

Yes. Exactly the goal. I'll throw in an E-mail like system too.

I think that this number of coins is not a problem. It is still 11 times LOWER than Digibyte (DGB), which is doing great. It is easier to send 10 XRX than eg. 0.0000012 BTC from a human point of view, we feel better with such numbers. If graphics cards enter the game, the amount of coins to be mined per day will remain the same, only the difficulty level will increase.

Why launch the pool, the SPU mining work fine. :(

It should not but happened.

I had about 150,000 XRX mined, only 1,500 were left, which I obtained on January 15.

150,000 have disappeared. address of the wallet or what kind of change I did not make.

Just ignore it -- no problems for you, someone just submitted a bad block.
The network is rejecting it like it should.

So if someone can explain

On a pool which has 39.9 kh/sec

This doesnt make sense to me as my cpu is doing all of 100h/s

Only 9 miners

So what exactly is making up 39kh???

A top end cpu can do maybe 600h/s???

Currently first pool labbinarymining.com does not work, second pool rcoinx.chain-miner.com works but it does not find blocks. On both of these pools you can mining XRX using graphics cards, so if they start working again, the difficulty will increase.

I think  rcoinx.chain-miner.com pool is about a thousand blocks behind (my solo miner is block 12100, whilst the pool is only showing 11000 blocks)

My CPU (solo mining) is still finding blocks too, which makes me think that there is no succesfull GPU mining going on and the the pool isnt working (a few GPU's on a pool should make my CPU obsolete on for solo mining).

Making no payments to miners, no reason to join the pool then lol. Just a pool from someone or you taking all blocks for itself. Very nice. Time to mine Lemanum again.

Not joining any pool that doesn't payout and is selfish.
I recommend everyone to stay away from this pool until confirmation of payouts, else you'd mine for nothing.

Well I think that this coin is other fail.

We have 2 nowork pool, and other nopay pool.

I connect (for testing purpouse) to the nopay pool, and in five minutes, all my hashrate was lost, because  the miner detect a new block before I send the result of the last block... 10 sec. per block are too short.

And of course, this pool not pay at all.

10 seconds is a short time, but thanks to this you will be able to make quick payments and quick confirmations. I think the problem is in the wrong miningfield configuration file, in default Forknote configuration parameter:

"targetTime": 100, //Try to get 1 share per this many seconds

If in XRX blocktime is 10s, miningfiled "targetTime" should be very short (1-2s), otherwise the mine sets the difficulty level too high and shares reach it after finding the block and are useless.

Receiving -% on some of the shares??

Seems blocks not synced with network??

Yeah they seem to be desynced. I have not been able to get the pool owners to fix it yet.

New working pool with payout. Remember this is my first pool but rechecked everything 5 times to make sure everything is working.

Check it out!

POOL.YT(0% fee)

http://pool.yt

Code:
-o stratum+tcp://pool.yt:PORT -u wallet -p x

Set a fixed difficulty by using -u wallet.difficulty (aka: wallet.10000)
Payments above 100 XRX & Pay-interval is every 60 seconds for now.

UNLEASH YOUR GPU POWER AND MINE SOME COINS! (still very easy to mine!)

CPU mining was unfun while it lasted ;D

I forgot about this coin after I downloaded the client and it didn't start, and there was just 1 or 2 posts in the thread. And now it's already GPU minable :P

I solomined more than 200 block with cpu... and now with the actual hashrate (17 KH) is still profitable.

So again, what about a Discord, I don't really think people are going to communicate through the old IRC, but discord, People love it! Its the most common used method and almost a must nowadays to let it build your community. People start mining, sharing knowledge and we love to be in direct contact with the coindeveloper to see progress. Bring out news, and especially: GROW.

Think about it, you'll love it.

Little note: I restyled my pool-page, PLUS >> the whole network touched 50KH/s, congrats! <<

RCoinX

NOTICE: We have switched to TkWallet3X as our official GUI wallet. This wallet should work better on Windows 10.

BOUNTY: You will receive 100XRX if you allow outside access to your daemon's RPC; this will allow the creation of a lightweight wallet (Electrum-style). PM me -- DO NOT REPLY HERE. Up to 5 participants.

We now have options for buying* and selling** RCoin with Litecoin!

1 XRX = 0.0005 LTC ($0.01USD)

Send the appropriate amount of LTC to LPusoRAaNbMinAhZqcHY4PdGiHBLUkyPDc
Your RCoin address must be the "description"; You will receive RCoins within 36 hours.

*Limit 1000XRX
**Once we have enough LTC to trade

This offer is only for BitcoinTalk users.

So our coins have been taken by the pools and are being sold for LTC....there will be over 1million coins "lost" from the pools, probably being used to sell for LTC, 1million XRX = $10,000, lol..........seriously wtf!

Those are the pool's problems, you have to get in contact with the pool owner you've mined on. What are you thinking they'll be gone? If so the poolowner ran with it, not the coin-owner. Try to get in touch with the pool owner you've mined on. Maybe he's just reinstalling his server and the pool will be back with your old info to payout, who knows? Just get in contact with them if you can.

CPU hashes stopped working on pool - no reason.

GPU hashes not working - no advice given by dev or pool.

Large chunk of coins "disappeared" on previous pools, pools were linked in the forums by new accounts so likely coins have gone ( where have they gone?? )

Dev trying to sell 1 million XRX coins ( prob took about a day to mine ) for LTC of $10,000.

**********Avoid this coin, it reeks of scam, has been developed by 1 person and has no roadmap, flaky code*******

This notice is for those who mined on the xrx.easygarlic.net mining pool:

I apologize for releasing a pool for which payments were not verified working. I was not experienced with running a cryptonote/forknote pool and apparently my pool was listed though it was misconfigured. Fortunately, your payment information was logged by the pool software and I will send you the exact amount which should have been paid originally for your hash power. I noticed that Ronsor began offering XRX in exchange for Litecoin, giving them a value to users which I did not expect. The unpaid units from my pool were never being used for this. It was simply a mismanagement of software on my end. Ronsor is using his own funds that he CPU mined before the difficulty became significantly higher. Again, I apologize for this incident which is not at the fault of Ronsor (the developer of RcoinX), and I apologize to Ronsor for the apparent accusation that he is using unpaid work from malicious pools to fund an exchange. xrx.easygarlic.net is the ONLY pool owned by me, I do not control any other pools, nor does Ronsor. If you have any questions, ask on the official Discord, as I am present there. I will NOT be sending funds to anyone other than those I can find on my logs and account for.

I will disclaim that I am affiliated with Ronsor (a long time friend) and I wanted to start a pool for his new coin, in addition to my Garlicoin pool (which is confirmed working with payouts at pool.easygarlic.net). I was running the only third-party pool that has affiliations with Ronsor in any way. I will also admit that we're two young'ns just having fun and getting our feet on the ground for working with open-source projects and communities. If you still think it's wrong for Ronsor to offer his XRX for LTC: It's a market. Buy it if you want it. Don't buy it if you don't. It's only an offer, not an obligation. For the low-budget blog naming RCoinX the "worst coin of the month," you should know that there are coins coming out this month like Bitcoin Diamond that literally just exist to fool people into giving away their private keys because they think the "airdrop" is legitimate (Source (https://medium.com/@btcblooddiamond/bitcoin-diamond-is-a-scam-of-epic-proportions-7d7908c43c22)). Your press would be much better spent on exposing actual scams rather than defaming innocent projects.

The source of this information is the log files of the node Forknote pool software. For some reason, it doesn't exactly add up. If you're missing any funds not accounted for on the following table, again you can contact me on the official Discord; tell me your address immediately so I can grep the logs for it. Requests for funds that do not immediately include an address will be ignored.

I will NOT be sending funds to anyone other than those I can find on my logs and account for.

...

Payment received. Thank you.

What is the maximum transaction size for XRX?

When I try to make 20000 XRX payments, everything is fine, for 30000 XRX the "Transaction is too big" message already appears. These 30000 XRX are about 140 inputs from blocks containing 220 XRX.

you can't send more than 20000XRX at a time (unless I suppose you increase the fee)

edit: the gui wallet does not support changing the fee yet

Increasing the fee does not change anything. Increasing the fee from 0.0001 to 1, that is 10,000 times, does not allow me to transfer 40,000 XRX. What is the maximum block size for XRX in bytes? The problem probably lies in the fact that the 40000 consists of 180 inputs from blocks of 220 XRX and in total these transactions exceed the size of a single block in kilobytes.

In any wallet I do not see the "coin control" function, which allows me to combine selected entries into groups by sending them to myself and thus reducing the size of the transaction.

We need a whitepaper, where the technical details of the XRX currency will be clearly described - not only the maximum amount and time of the block, but also the algorithm of decreasing the number of coins in blocks over time, total time of PoW phase, block sizes, etc.

100,000 is XRX's max block size in bytes (as detailed in coin.conf).

Ok, the problem is solved. Indeed, the size limit of the block means that you can not send one large XRX payment that comes from several hundred small payments. But this can be solved by sending smaller amounts to own wallet or between two wallets, this combine them into larger imputs. When imputs have larger amounts, you can easily make transfers to hundreds of thousands XRX.

That means the wallet is syncing with the daemon. It may take a few minutes (and yes I need better UI).

Glad to be in early.

Any idea's for the people when a white paper will be released or some kind of roadmap

just jot a few things down what you would like to do in some form of order, it doesn't have to be a presentation.

Can you unban my friends IP?, he hashes high, but that's what this needs, more miners fast, get the exchange fund rolling!

Peace

Try to look inside the daemon log to see if you're completely synced. Your blockchain might have been corrupted. Check your log for more info.
Tk3 wallet is not responding when I'm opening my wallet. Using simplewallet.exe cli works fine if you have troubles.

when you opened the wallet first time did you allow connections? via the pop up box?

sounds like this never got set.

To get your keys..

open the wallet, you have to generate a new wallet and give it a password

You can then save the wallet Seed by right clicking on the CLI box, select edit and copying what it says then pasting into notepad or something similar.

If you used Sn000py's pool.yt, no worries all the records are there for Ronsor to use to send your wallet the right amount of coinage.

If you solo mined this, message Ronsor in Discord, he'll make sure you have the correct coinage.

Again, the best way to find HELP is in Discord (see 1st post for link).
