Title: Selling ButteryFly Single (60GH/s) - In Hand - 20BTC *OBO*
Post by: achillez on August 16, 2013, 07:05:58 PM
I have one of the early BFL Single Unit orders. Expect to receive the unit in 1-2 weeks.  Looking to sell  for ~100BTC. If anyone is interested pls PM or post in the thread. We can go through Escrow (JohnK) or someone else if you want to secure the order. If interest I can also keep the unit locally, and send mining proceeds to the owner for a moderate fee.

*Updated price based on difficulty increase*

I'm sorry.  I didn't read the OP carefully and was thinking that $1,100 was too much for a Single that wasn't in hand.

He said ~100BTC for a Single. That's currently about $11,000 for 60GH... or $183/GH.

If anyone thinks that's a deal, I'd sell you a 500GH rig in hand today for $91,000 (same rate as above). Hey! I'll even drop it down to $70,000 and get the rig to you by tomorrow or the next day. :)

I know.  There was no space between numerals and currency, so I initially read it as 10 BTC.

The singles were going for 100BTC 1-2 months ago. I'm fine dropping the BTC to a reasonable price. As a I said above I dropped to 85BTC, but given that mining power continues to go up maybe 70BTC is a better deal.  So my price is now 80BTC OBO.  I expect to receive my unit in ~1 week (following current shipping dates from BFL).

Let me help you because you are lost.

ASIC Miner is selling 13Gh Miners today for immediate deliver for $1025

That's $78 a GH

You are Asking BTC80 which is $8700 which is $145 a GH  (twice the price)

So if you JUST wanted to be competitive with what anyone can buy Hashing power today for.
Your price would have to be BTC42.50

I know that makes you sad that you wanted to make a huge profit on your $1200 investment (if you bought before April 2103, When did you order by the way?)

but when you think about it, $4000 on a $1200 investment is not Bad.

Good point. I bought the unit in July'2012. As I said I'll be receiving, and shipping the unit in 1-2 weeks.

In regards to the comparison vs. the block eruptors they are rated for 10.7GH/s, and can be overclocked to 12.8GH/s. Let's be fair and say they can reasonably achieve 12GH/s. Therefore that's 5*1025 = $5125.   The BFL SC can achieve 60GH/s+.   It's known to work, and a consolidated unit. I agree 80BTC is a bit too high though, and I'll drop it to 55BTC *OBO*.

If someone purchases this soon I can update my shipping profile and send the system directly to you. That way you'll get the system as soon as possible.

I think your number of 42.50 BTC is pretty accurate.   It also is close to the return the device should give in six months with 60% difficulty increases.

Just checked Ebay and it is still selling these for ~$6500 with the unit in-hand. I think I'll wait 1 week until I get the unit and then post it. Thanks all .

Ebay is a risk but it might work.  Ebay fees are about $500, so you will net $6000.  The buyer could take it and return it in a month (after mining) for a full refund.  It is not 'legal' but ebay unfortunately allows it.  And that is the rosier fraud scenario, you can imagine the worse one.

Another strategy for maximum return is to just mine with it for 30 days.  Get the $1500 or so of BTC and see where the BTC price/difficulty and selling price of the unit are.  I personally do not think difficulty can keep rising at the current rate for 60 days.    In 30 days I imagine you could get more then 35BTC for it so you come out just a bit ahead.

I strongly disagree.

The difficulty got out of the prediction area since there's a constant HUGE production and demand for ASIC miners as we speak. Let aside companies like Terrahash or Klondike that will (if they don't follow the BFL way) hit the BTC network with several TH of horsepower within the next two months.

Take only Asicminer USB eruptors. 100 of these things will have you running with a 125W 33GH/s miner for under 40BTC (with latest prices). Only one person here (canaryinthemine) managed to ship over 3.5TH of USBs.

My point is that people don't have to wait for brand new super duper BTC mining stuff. They already have it NOW! They only have to order with next day delivery. So... I think difficulty will get higher as Asicminer won't stop producing, for any reason, anytime soon...

Just my 20c.

Thanks that's great feedback. I might do that and see how it goes. Note I just received an email from BFL they shipped my single :)

Now the next thing I'm contemplating is the 600GH/s unit for $4k. Shipping in Jan is pretty late but that's a pretty nice setup.

Ok I decided to sell this after-all. It's a nifty box but a little noisy for my small house.

Now looking to sell for 30BTC *OBO*.  I have the unit in hand and can show pictures, etc.. to any interested parties. Will ship immediately upon receiving the order and securing Eskrow (or receiving BTC).

Note I'm West Coast US (Oregon) if folks are in this area.

Nope I'm kind of out of the mining equipment business for right now.

Just a heads up for everyone, I still haven't received the 0.5BTC from DrJoeGrine. Several days have gone by. He "might" be a scammer, which is odd given the size of the transaction already paid.

Looks like DrJoeGrine scammed me out of 0.5BTC. Not sure why he did this given he already paid me for most of the miner.  All be warned  :( :(

I think you made out on this deal. You got almost 20 BTC equivalent for a unit that now is going for <13 BTC. I would not be crying over .5 BTC or would you rather just cancel the deal and he send you back the miner and you give him 13 BTC and the video card?
