If you don’t accept, they might try another variant called the “increments scam”. The way this works is they ask you to send some of your Skrill first “to prove your credibility”. To entice you to do this, they will offer a much better rate than the one you proposed originally. Do not accept any of these fake offers.
Use a trusted and reputable escrow only. Absolutely nothing else. That’s how to defeat these scams. Contact the escrow directly. Don’t believe cut and paste instructions allegedly sent by the escrow. I think this also helps scammers as well, after reading this scammers also aware that these methods won't work anymore and they always keep looking for new ways. thats why they are still winning no matter how many users post this kind of guidelines.
