Title: I see people make their own miners, are they safe and do they work? Post by: Digital Drug Lord on January 14, 2018, 11:10:35 PM I see threads for people that make miners but im wondering if there is a night and day difference between the 2?
im using a program called cryptogoblin and this was its result on my 15 7600k' HASHRATE REPORT ----------------------------------------------------------- | ID | 5s | 60s | 15m | ID | 5s | 60s | 15m | ----------------------------------------------------------- | 0 | 59.65 | (na) | (na) | 1 | 64.79 | (na) | (na) | | 2 | 65.56 | (na) | (na) | ----------------------------------------------------------- Totals: 190.00 (na) (na) H/s Highest: 196.23 H/s and these are the results from my video card miner called xmr-stak-nvidia HASHRATE REPORT | ID | 10s | 60s | 15m | | 0 | 601.3 | 603.0 | (na) | --------------------------- Totals: 601.3 603.0 (na) H/s Highest: 611.8 H/s will one of these programs people post here double my power? Are you talking about those of us who build multiple gpu miners?

Nope, but a second gpu will double your hashing power. And guess what ... A third one will triple it! Holy Jesus! I can do math! ... Lol. Are you talking about those of us who build multiple gpu miners? yeah what are all these miners and what do they do? will they give me more power? Im looking to get a vega 56 or 64 to put in my pc, I already have a 1070. are there any ones you can recommend for my 1070 and if so how would it help me today? are there any ones you know about that might help with my future set up of 1070 with a vega? Title: Re: I see people make their own miners, are they safe and do they work? Post by: gotminer on January 15, 2018, 12:01:39 AM No I already told you that I personally wouldn't mix AMD and Nvidia in the same rig. And no, you'll probably have to run two seperate miners on the same rig if you have a 1070 and a Vega in the same rig. If you want to mine XMR with your Vega, you'll have to run a miner that does that. If you want to mine ZEN with your 1070, you'll have to run a miner for that. More headaches to deal with in the same rig. I don't like it.
If you're only going to run two cards, get a 1070ti or a 1080ti to run with your 1070 and start mining a coin that uses the equihash algo. You can research other algo's, because Nvidia will do quite a few pretty well. Title: Re: I see people make their own miners, are they safe and do they work? Title: Re: I see people make their own miners, are they safe and do they work? Post by: gotminer on January 15, 2018, 12:38:49 AM You fucking mine coins with the software via whatever pool you want to mine with. You obviously don't understand mining at all. Start reading. Jesus Christ man.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and assume you've only headed this route because someone has told you that you can make invisible money to do digital drugs or whatever so it sounds like it might behoove you to take a step back and ask why can't a thing do something instead of why can't I make more digital drugs so here goes;

But the previous replies should be sufficient: you can't double your hashrate just by using other mining software unlike the OP said. The difference is normally a few percentage in exception to badly-written ones which produces much lower than normal hashrate than the rest (that might be the OP's case). Title: Re: I see people make their own miners, are they safe and do they work? Post by: dentolas on May 15, 2019, 06:28:34 AM I have also seen a few of those examples you mention. Some people code their mining software and get higher hasrates on some algos.
I have used one or two of these, and one of those doubled the hasrate on the coin I was mining at the time... but this is vey dangerous, as you need to absolutely trust the source of the files |
