Title: What is this Cricket Sound, bad bearing? something else? Post by: flip4flop on January 15, 2018, 12:55:52 AM I have been pretty lucky with GPUs all being fine since I started mining (cant say the same for PSUs). Is this the sound of a bad bearing? Sounds like crickets.

Hard to catch on my phone but very audible in person. Yup, this is GPU fans dying. I've had several GPU fans die on me so far, no biggie. Just look out for any GPU overheating, that's a good indicator of which fans dying. Title: Re: What is this Cricket Sound, bad bearing? something else? If you're feeling adventurous, you could always fix the fan in question by giving it a little oil. There are many guides that you can find by searching on google or youtube. Sounds like crickets. https://streamable.com/61arc (https://streamable.com/61arc) i have had the same kind of issues with zotac gtx 1060 6gb amp edition every two to three months or so one fan starts to act in any one of the eight gpu and i have to rma it to sort the fan issue out four out of eight are already replaced never had any kind of issues with any other gpus rather than this |
