Title: Steampunk Mining Rig (Wooden Frame, 3D prints & Paint) Post by: geekcryptogal on January 15, 2018, 12:43:46 PM So I decided I wanted to decorate my new/first mining rig. I went with Steampunk theme.
I made the frame of 1" square dowel wood and initially painted it indigo purple/blue. I decided I'd like something more interesting so I started painting the frame metallic copper. I also knew I needed some corner braces to make it rock solid. I found a nice victorian corner brace on thingiverse and am going to print out several. Thingiverse link: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2351435 I also found some corner gear decorations. I think I might be going with this one: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:302506 Printed and painted them and have them propped up on the rig to kind of get a feel for how it is gonna look. It's going to be really strong that's for sure, with these corner braces. Here's a photo of my progress so far: http://oi68.tinypic.com/20b0dqd.jpg I'm not sure why the photo above doesn't show up in my post (only the link shows); if someone could reply with the image displayed, it would be appreciated :) Title: Re: Steampunk Mining Rig (Wooden Frame, 3D prints & Paint) Post by: PontusLSE on January 15, 2018, 01:59:30 PM http://oi68.tinypic.com/20b0dqd.jpg if someone could reply with the image displayed, it would be appreciated :) Title: Re: Steampunk Mining Rig (Wooden Frame, 3D prints & Paint) Post by: geekcryptogal on January 20, 2018, 08:30:15 AM Making some progress.
