One of the beauties about Open Dimes is that they can function as assets, in and of themselves. You can think of a 0.5 BTC Open Dime the same way you think of a 0.5 oz minted gold piece. In fact, it's even better, because you can just plug it in to verify the BTC contents (no worries of counterfeiting). So you could sell it P2P as 0.5 BTC without any need to expose the private key. If you want to sell it online, you'll want to break it and sweep the private key. In that case, you'll need to take some security precautions. The most foolproof method is sweeping it directly to a hardware wallet (like Trezor or Ledger). Alternatively, I would set up an Electrum wallet on an offline computer and sweep the private key to that wallet. ADVISE ?? depending on what version it is, you have to either press a pin on a designated marked place or break the middle part (the new one is where we press pin) after that you will simply have your privkey in the .txt file Copy the privkey and sweep on a wallet that supports .WIF format Use a computer/device which is not online to be safe and put the privkey aside. Do not try to do on exchange, most of the exchanges do not sweep privkey. Blockchain.info is a good site for hassle free sweeping or you can always go for the electrum Also, you cannot access some funds. you have to sweep the privkey of all funds or none Title: Re: open dime Post by: rich161 on January 16, 2018, 11:56:27 AM Thanks for info.Does that mean i can transfer direct from openndime to nano s (which i have just set up). ?
