Title: GPU VRAM used only 60% ! 4GB vs 8 GB
Post by: bitliteethdashneo on January 16, 2018, 10:20:36 AM

Hello

I am mining with claymore "ETH only" setting with AMD RX 570 4GB. Its mining decently at 26 mh/s.
When I check with radeontop the VRAM usage is shown as only 50-60% around 2500M out of 4089M ( 4GB).

Even if we set it to 29 - 30 mh/s by varying parameters will the VRAM be used fully?
If not what will be performance improvements with 8GB cards as cards may never require so much memory, as memory width(256) and clock rates remains same.

Please share your experiences.

Thanks

You do not understand: Radeontop shows exactly the load memory (MB/%) - its DAG file (CURRENT DAG SIZE   2.27 GB). Other programs show direct memory usage and there one will equal 100% (or so).
Try to look in HWINfo or Open Hardware Monitor.
